Job DescriptionJob Title: Mobile HVAC Service TechnicianJob Description This role is a mobile HVAC service technician position supporting multiple commercial facilities in the Buffalo, NY region, with the intention to convert to a full-time permanent role. You will travel between sites to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC and related building systems, ensuring safe, comfortable, and reliable environments. The position combines hands-on technical work, independent field service, and direct impact on building performance across a diverse portfolio of properties. Responsibilities • Perform preventive maintenance and repair work orders on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems across multiple assigned facilities., • Maintain, operate, troubleshoot, and repair all HVAC systems and associated equipment, including rooftop units, air handlers, motors, belts, contactors, thermostats, and related components., • Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior and exterior components as needed., • Conduct facility inspections and due diligence assessments, documenting building conditions that impact client occupancy and operations, and submit clear and timely summary reports., • Support fire/life safety-related tasks, including basic inspections and coordination of issues related to building systems, while following all applicable safety procedures., • Operate and monitor building automation systems, fire/life safety systems, and other building-related equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance., • Perform HVAC-focused work such as filter changes, belt replacements, and other routine maintenance tasks to keep systems running efficiently., • Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including after-hours building-related incidents, to minimize disruption to operations., • Participate in on-call rotation and handle emergency service calls as needed, providing field-based support across the assigned region., • Use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and mobile devices or tablets to receive, manage, and document work orders and service activities., • Identify safety hazards in mechanical rooms, rooftops, warehouses, and other environments, and propose effective methods to eliminate or mitigate risks., • Travel to and support up to approximately 20 different sites, including offices, warehouses, barns, garages, and mixed-use commercial properties., • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas, including company vehicles, tools, and equipment., • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding work status, issues identified, and recommended corrective actions., • Work independently in the field, managing your own route, prioritizing work orders, and ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.Essential Skills, • Minimum of 2 years of HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience, with commercial HVAC maintenance experience strongly preferred., • Universal EPA Certification (EPA Universal) required., • Demonstrated experience performing preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including filter changes, belts, motors, contactors, thermostats, and other HVAC components., • Mechanical aptitude with strong HVAC and mechanical troubleshooting skills., • Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to travel between multiple customer sites regularly., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a mobile, field-based role., • Experience responding to emergency service calls and participating in on-call support., • Comfort using mobile devices or tablets for work order management, documentation, and communication., • Physical ability to lift up to 80 pounds safely and to climb ladders up to approximately 30 feet on a regular basis., • Availability to work on-call duties and overtime as required to support emergency and critical building operations., • Strong knowledge or familiarity with State, County, and City codes and ordinances related to building operations, with a commitment to compliance., • Experience working with HVAC systems in commercial environments, including troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical components.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Four or more years of technical experience in commercial building engineering, with expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment repair and maintenance., • Experience with commercial building maintenance or facilities maintenance in office buildings, warehouses, distribution centers, garages, storage facilities, barns, or mixed-use properties., • Working knowledge of MEP/HVAC system design, application, and integration in commercial buildings., • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Corrigo, ServiceChannel, or similar platforms., • Exposure to building automation systems and their operation in commercial environments., • Fire/life safety systems experience, including basic operation, monitoring, or coordination of related work., • Plumbing and electrical troubleshooting experience in a commercial or facilities setting., • Background in service-oriented roles within commercial facilities management or property operations., • Relevant trade certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related building systems disciplines., • Trade school or technical school training in HVAC, building maintenance, or a related field., • Demonstrated ability to identify safety hazards in facilities and recommend effective corrective actions., • Experience reading and working from blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams., • Hands-on experience with hand tools, field service work, installation, assembly, pneumatics, and hydraulics.Why Work Here? You will work both indoors and outdoors in mechanical rooms, rooftop units, equipment rooms, and warehouse environments, with exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions. The schedule is generally Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with on-call responsibilities and occasional after-hours emergency service calls. The role uses a company-provided vehicle for port-to-port travel, along with standard hand tools, HVAC tools, and mobile devices or tablets for work order management and communication. Work is largely independent, requiring self-direction, safe work practices, and adherence to all safety procedures in mechanical, electrical, and rooftop environments. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Buffalo, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
