This role will play a critical part in managing financial reporting, ensuring accurate inventory accounting, and supporting the financial health and compliance of our operations. You’ll work closely with operations, production, and finance to ensure inventory is properly tracked, valued, and reported, and that all financial reporting is completed timely and accurately in accordance with industry best practices and accounting standards. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis. Support year-end audit activities and liaise with external auditors. Inventory Accounting Manage and monitor inventory transactions and cost of goods sold (COGS). Reconcile inventory balances across multiple locations, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. Conduct regular inventory valuations and work with operations to resolve discrepancies. Assist in developing and maintaining inventory tracking and reporting systems. General Accounting Oversee general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Ensure timely and accurate posting of journal entries and accruals. Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules. Support compliance with local, state, and federal tax reporting requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with production, supply chain, and warehouse teams to ensure proper inventory controls. Provide financial insights to support business decisions and operational efficiency. Identify opportunities for process improvements and system automation. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within agriculture, manufacturing, or inventory-intensive industries. Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control principles. Proven experience with inventory accounting, reconciliations, and cost analysis. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar ERP systems). Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Interested in hearing more?
