Job DescriptionJob Title: Senior Warehouse AssociateJob Description The Senior Warehouse Associate plays a key role in daily warehouse operations, combining hands-on physical work with leadership and coordination responsibilities. This position focuses on moving and organizing materials, supporting shipping and receiving activities, and ensuring that inventory is handled safely and efficiently. The Senior Warehouse Associate operates forklifts and drives box trucks to manage incoming and outgoing shipments, while also assisting with planning, reporting, and guiding team members. With opening and closing responsibilities, this role is critical to maintaining smooth, productive, and safe operations in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Responsibilities • Operate forklifts to move, load, unload, and organize materials and inventory throughout the warehouse., • Drive 20-foot box trucks to support commercial deliveries, pickups, and movement of donated goods., • Perform picking, packing, material handling, and general labor tasks to support daily order fulfillment and shipping activities., • Unload incoming shipments and ensure items are properly received, checked, and stored in designated locations., • Maintain accurate warehouse inventory by organizing stock, verifying counts, and supporting inventory control processes., • Assist leadership with operational oversight, including planning daily workflow, coordinating tasks, and supporting productivity goals., • Provide leadership and team support on the warehouse floor, helping guide and direct entry-level associates as needed., • Support opening and closing procedures to ensure the warehouse is prepared for daily operations and secured at the end of the day., • Monitor safety and compliance, follow all protocols, and promote a safety-first mindset among team members., • Communicate clearly with team members, leadership, donors, and shipping partners to coordinate shipments and resolve issues., • Assist with warehouse documentation and reporting processes, including basic record-keeping related to shipments and inventory., • Lead or participate in meetings to communicate expectations, operational updates, and process changes to the team., • Manage time effectively and multitask across multiple incoming and outgoing shipments in a fast-paced environment., • Train or mentor entry-level associates when needed, sharing best practices for logistics, organization, and equipment handling., • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accountability in all aspects of warehouse operations.Essential Skills, • Proven experience in warehouse operations, including picking, packing, material handling, and general labor tasks., • Forklift experience and current forklift certification, with the ability and commitment to maintain certification., • Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record., • Experience driving larger trucks such as 20-foot box trucks., • Experience supporting commercial driving and delivery activities., • Ability to perform operational oversight and support leadership in coordinating daily warehouse activities., • Strong time management and multitasking skills in a fast-paced, high-activity environment., • High attention to detail in handling inventory, documentation, and shipments., • Effective communication skills for working with team members, leadership, donors, and shipping partners., • Demonstrated safety and compliance mindset, with strict adherence to protocols and PPE requirements., • Familiarity with warehouse inventory processes and packaging practices., • Flexibility to work a Monday–Saturday schedule., • High level of accountability, dependability, and reliability in daily responsibilities., • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in an operational setting.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with shipping carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and similar providers is preferred., • Familiarity with warehouse documentation, reporting processes, and basic record-keeping., • Ability to lead meetings and clearly communicate expectations and process updates to the team., • Experience training or mentoring entry-level warehouse associates is preferred., • Interest in building a career in warehouse, logistics, or operations., • Ability to build and apply transferable skills in logistics, organization, and equipment handling.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a fast-paced warehouse setting with a typical schedule of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The environment involves high daily activity, with multiple incoming and outgoing shipments and regular operation of forklifts and 20-foot box trucks. Noise levels are moderate to high due to machinery and equipment, and you may experience varying temperatures depending on the season and warehouse conditions. The work is physically demanding and includes lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, potentially up to 10 hours, as part of daily tasks. Leadership presence is active on the warehouse floor, providing support to staff and coordinating workflow in real time. The workplace follows a safety-first culture with strict adherence to safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Buffalo, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
