Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative individual to join our team as a Printer Assistant / Computer Graphics Technician. This role combines technical expertise in wide-format printing with a strong foundation in graphic design and illustration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, managing, and printing high-quality graphics and designs, while also providing training and support on the use of our wide-format printers. Responsibilities: * Graphic Design & Pre-Press: * Utilize Adobe Illustrator and other design software to create, modify, and prepare digital files for printing. * Work with various graphic formats and ensure files are optimized for wide-format printing, including color correction, resolution checks, and bleed settings. * Use graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Sketch to edit, retouch, and prepare images for print production. * Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand design requirements and deliver visually appealing and accurate prints. * Wide-Format Printing: * Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot wide-format printers to produce high-quality prints on various materials (e.g., vinyl, canvas, paper). * Monitor print jobs to ensure quality control, including color accuracy, print alignment, and material integrity. * Perform regular maintenance on printers, including cleaning print heads, calibrating, and replacing ink cartridges and media. * Manage print queues and schedule jobs to meet production deadlines. * Training & Support: * Provide comprehensive training to new and existing team members on the proper and safe use of wide-format printers. * Develop and maintain training materials and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for printing processes. * Offer technical support and guidance to colleagues on design and printing best practices. Qualifications: * Proven experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio showcasing work in Illustrator and other design software. * Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other relevant graphic design tools (e.g., Sketch). * Demonstrated experience in operating and troubleshooting wide-format printers. * Excellent understanding of color management, resolution, and file formats for print production. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train others. * Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. * A passion for creativity and a keen eye for design.
