Job Description – Project Manager (Playground Surfacing Systems) We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the construction and installation of playground surfacing systems. This role manages projects from initial site assessment through scheduling, crew supervision, and final installation. The ideal candidate has a strong construction background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead multiple projects and crews simultaneously. Key Responsibilities • Conduct pre‐installation site inspections and ensure compliance with safety codes, building regulations, and ASTM standards, • Develop project schedules, manage timelines, and coordinate labor needs, • Interpret plans, blueprints, and contract terms for contractors, clients, and crews, • Lead, train, and manage installation teams while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and performance, • Secure necessary permits and ensure accurate documentation and communication, • Maintain real‐time schedules and adapt quickly to changes or cancellations Qualifications Required: • 5+ years of construction or project management experience, • Strong ability to read plans, schedules, and technical documents, • Experience coordinating multiple sites or crews, • Proficiency in MS Office; strong communication and organizational skills, • Ability to travel and manage remote crews Who Thrives in This Role • Highly organized, detail‐oriented project managers, • Strong communicators comfortable with fast‐changing schedules, • Hands‐on leaders who excel in the field, • “Go‐getter” types who can own multiple projects from start to finish Preferred but not required skills • 10+ years of experience, • Background in playground surfacing or related construction, • Experience with Robertson or FlexGround systems, • Familiarity with Epicor, Salesforce, or similar tools Position Breakdown 30% — Site Assessment & Compliance • Conduct pre‐installation job site inspections to verify measurements, base thickness, site access, drainage, and overall readiness., • Ensure compliance with ASTM standards, building codes, safety regulations, and company specifications., • Develop detailed project schedules with logical sequencing of work., • Determine labor needs and assign installation crews accordingly., • Interpret and explain plans, blueprints, and contract terms to general contractors, clients, administrative staff, and installation teams., • Oversee field team performance, including recruiting, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance evaluation., • Communicate job expectations, enforce company policies, and support positive team culture., • Interpret job specifications, blueprints, and work orders to schedule and assign tasks., • Secure required permits, licenses, and documentation for all assigned projects The above are not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties, responsibilities and requirements of the job described.
