Our goal is help those who have experienced physical, emotional or other forms of abuse to establish long-term safety and healing from the effects of trauma. Job Description Summary Streetwork Project is the oldest street outreach program for homeless and street-involved youth in New York City. The program has grown from its beginnings in 1984 as a storefront project to encompass both outreach and comprehensive harm reduction services. The core service is long-term, one-on-one counseling, which is offered in a non-judgmental and holistic manner utilizing a harm reduction approach that focuses on building trust, fostering self-esteem, exploring options and choices, and empowering youth to change their high-risk behaviors. As part of our continuum of services we operate an emergency housing program for homeless youth in NYC, Streetwork Overnight. The Overnight is a 24 bed facility for youth ages 16-20. It is open from 7 pm to 10 am 7 days a week. Casual Youth Advocates work overnight hours to support the youth while they are in our crisis shelter. As part of our continuum of services, we also provide overnight outreach in teams of two seven nights a week (7 pm to 3 am), throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Casual Youth Advocates work overnight hours to meet the most disenfranchised youth while they are in crisis. Casual Youth Advocates work part-time and on-call, filling in for full-time youth advocate absences at the Overnight and Outreach program. These individuals provide comprehensive services to adolescents and young adults impacted by homelessness and involved in street activities (gangs, violence, drug use/sale and survival sex). Services provided by casual youth advocates are the same as full-time youth advocates and include assessment, case planning, case facilitation and management, counseling, referrals, outreach, crisis transportation, daily living services (food, shower, respite), and groups. These Youth Advocates coordinate with Safe Horizon supporting programs and local agencies to provide short- and long-term care necessary to meet the wide range of needs related to homeless adolescents. Job DescriptionSummary: Streetwork Project is an innovative outreach-counseling program for homeless youth in Harlem, which utilizes a comprehensive harm reduction approach that informs all facets of client work. The Housing Advocate will provide advocacy services to adolescents and young adults impacted by homelessness, poverty and mental illness, many of whom are involved in street activities (gangs, violence, drug use/sale and survival sex). The main client-base for this position will be homeless young people with serious and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorders. The Housing Advocate will work with clients on accessing shelter and permanent housing. The core of the shelter assistance will be supporting clients with referrals to and advocacy within youth shelters (DYCD), domestic violence shelters (DV), and adult homeless shelters (DHS) including both singles and family shelters. The core of the housing assistance will be the completion of supportive housing applications, completion of applications for housing vouchers (including but not limited to Section 8, City FHEPS, HASA), assisting clients who have vouchers in locating and moving into appropriate housing which includes landlord outreach and engagement, and New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) applications. This will include advocacy with DHS (the NYC Department of Homeless Services) and HRA (the NYC Human Resources Administration) and will necessarily include advocacy for acquiring and navigating cash assistance and disability-income programs. The Housing Advocate will be a technical resource on individual cases with case managers and other staff members and provide trainings to Streetwork staff (and other Safe Horizon program staff) as well as conduct relevant outreach and Know-Your-Rights workshops for clients. YOUR ROLE: The Buyer oversees tactical planning, execution and reporting of campaigns. They utilize their knowledge of the media marketplace and media channels to brainstorm and ideate new activations and vendors for media campaigns. Reliable, ethical & operates in the best interest of Crossmedia & clients • Maintains a base-level knowledge of buying for both online and offline media channels: Digital (Banners, Audio, Video) Search, Social, TV, Radio, OOH [Out-of-Home], Print., • Owns vendor communications and developing relationships with clients., • Manages RFP process: developing partner consideration sets, putting together RFPs, and managing conversations & RFP development with partners., • Collaborates on the buying of media, vendor contracts, budget management by individual platforms, billing/invoicing for media campaigns., • Leads knowledge of media buying tools to execute plans and buys- Freewheel, SBMS/Adazzle, GCM & MOAT/IAS, GCM, Datorama, Tableau etc., • Applies principles of negotiation to ensure discounts and added value, • First 'gatekeeper' and reviewer for Assistant's work., • Ensures smooth campaign launch & execution and communicates updates internally and externally., • Deep understanding of the Digital media trafficking process, • Performs weekly pacing and monitoring of campaign performance Focuses on a quality product, adhering to Crossmedia's high standards • Fully comprehends media strategy and tactical details., • Supports Supervisor/Director in the development of media approach, • Proactively encourages media + creative integration through cross-agency presentations and timelines, • Validates accuracy of data use for reporting, • Develops media POVs for clients, • Encourages thinking outside of the box., • Stays up to date with marketplace offerings and new opportunities Personal efforts generate satisfaction – clients, team, company • Participates in training to enhance their professional growth., • Mentors Assistant Buyers; provides ongoing feedback and reviews to guide growth., • Displays a high level of personal dedication and motivation., • Positively contributes to our culture., • Troubleshoots team issues and concerns., • Builds esprit de corps through strong team communication. REQUIREMENTS • 2 years of experience in a media investment/buying role across online and/or offline channels, including campaign execution and managemen (Digital - Display, Audio, Video), Search, Social, and Traditional (TV, Radio, OOH, Print)., • Proficiency with media tools and platforms such as Freewheel, SBMS/Adazzle, GCM, MOAT/IAS, Tableau,, • Strong project and campaign management skills, including RFP development, vendor negotiations, trafficking, and pacing/reporting., • Effective communication and collaboration skills—able to manage vendor relationships, support internal teams, and clearly articulate media strategies., • Ability to mentor junior team members Salary range $62k – $75k. Compensation is determined on the skills, qualifications and tenure of the applicant. This role requires proximity to New York City.
