Our flagship Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) program provides paid transitional work experience, transitional housing, advanced occupational training, and comprehensive supportive services to individuals experiencing homelessness. The Doe Fund is also one of New York City’s largest nonprofit developers of permanent affordable and supportive housing, with more than 1,900 units in operation or pre-development. The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $73 million and a full-time staff of nearly 500, a significant portion of whom are graduates of our programs. The Doe Fund is contracted by EDC to provide support services for its Clean-Up Corp Programs hiring approximately 55 full-time workers. These Clean-Up Corps Programs – Graffiti Free NYC and Clean NYC are the City’s principal task forces for removing graffiti and cleaning New York streets across five boroughs and work in close coordination with City Hall and the Mayor’s Office on high priority requests. Work consists of: site cleanup, beautification, area maintenance, graffiti and snow removal. The Doe Fund also provides additional vocational and job training, with the goal of improving their career trajectory and gaining higher paid employment. Program Overview: The Clean NYC program was announced in 2016 as a joint effort between the Mayor’s Office and NYCEDC. The program brought regular power-washing capabilities and garbage collection to clean sidewalks in heavily trafficked corridors in all five boroughs, with the goal to build welcoming, vibrant communities and business districts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to) • Operating Small Engine Equipment: operating the street sweeper, weed whacker and trimmer to maintain streets and sidewalks, collecting debris, and ensuring proper disposal., • Route Following: Adhering to assigned routes and schedules to ensure thorough cleaning of the area., • Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on street sweeping equipment., • Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all work is completed to specifications and in compliance with health and safety regulations., • Debris Removal: Removing litter, debris, and other contaminants from streets, sidewalks, and public areas., • Snow and Ice Removal: In some regions, removing snow and ice from streets during winter months., • Outdoors: Street cleaning is typically performed outdoors in all weather conditions., • Exposure to Dust and Noise: Workers may be exposed to dust, noise, and traffic., • Valid Driver's License., • Clean Driving Record: A clean driving record is essential., • Physical Requirements: The ability to perform physical requirements such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods., • Experience: Experience with street sweeping equipment or other sanitation-related work is often preferred.

Job Description Summary Streetwork Project is an innovative outreach-counseling program for homeless youth in Harlem, which utilizes a harm reduction approach providing comprehensive services to adolescents and young adults impacted by homelessness and involved in street activities (gangs, violence, drug use/sale and survival sex). The Youth Services Navigator will promote access to harm reduction supplies and services at Streetwork’s Drop-In Center, with a focus on LGBTQ youth and youth of color at risk of SUDs Youth Services Navigators (YSN) will facilitate and conduct one-on-one harm reduction goal setting intervention for drug using clients. Youth Services Navigators will provide overdose prevention and response trainings for drug users. The YSN will provide youth seeking harm reduction services with information, counseling and supplies (safer syringe services, sniff kits, safer sex supplies, Naloxone kits and sharps disposal kits), The Youth Services Navigators will also be needed to provide general program services such client monitoring in the milieu, intake and assessment, supportive counseling, referrals, syringe exchange, escorts and the provision of concrete services (meal preparation client, laundry, provision of supplies), and groups. Summary: The Substance Use & Family Support Specialist will serve as the substance abuse specialist for the Clinical Supports Program. Provides consultation and engagement support to CPS Teams working with families impacted by substance use disorders. Assists with assessment, harm reduction, treatment linkage, and safety planning to support child and family well-being. This position will work directly with CPS staff to provide trauma-informed consultation, crisis intervention, and guidance to ensure families receive timely access to appropriate services. The Substance Use & Family Support Specialist will act as the primary liaison between CPS teams, community providers, and partner agencies to streamline referrals, improve coordination of care, and ensure consistent responses for families. This position requires flexibility, as some cases may require after-hours or weekend response depending on client needs or emergency situations. Responsibilities: · Integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered, and culturally responsive approach into all clinical collaborative activities. · Serve as the designated substance abuse liaison between CPS, community partners, and external providers. · Conduct brief assessments and provide crisis intervention and psychoeducation to families. · Support CPS staff with consultation, case planning, and strategies to address complex family dynamics. · Facilitate warm handoffs and referrals to appropriate community services, ensuring follow-up and coordination of care. · Conduct substance use screenings, assessments, and brief interventions using evidence-based practices. · Train CPS teams on risk reduction strategies, safety planning, and treatment options. · Facilitate referrals and warm handoffs to appropriate treatment providers. · Participate in case conferences, home visits, and discharge planning meetings. · Deliver borough-based training for ACS staff on addiction and recovery. · Collaborate with hospitals, treatment programs, and community providers. · Document activities and outcomes in required systems. · Develop and maintain relationships with hospitals, outpatient clinics, and mental health partners to expand service access. · Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to provide mental health expertise and ensure care planning. · Deliver mental health awareness and self-care training to CPS staff to enhance trauma-informed practice. · Maintain accurate and timely case documentation in compliance with program standards and confidentiality requirements. · Respond to after-hours or weekend mental health needs as required by emergent situations or program demand. · Participate in team meetings, supervision, and professional development opportunities. · Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required: • Bachelors with a CASCA, Masters degree preferred • Licensure or Certification (CASAC (Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor) • At least two years of experience providing services to individuals and families. • Demonstrated experience in crisis response and multidisciplinary collaboration • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred: • Experience working with substance use and similar interdisciplinary setting. • Knowledge of community mental health systems and evidence-based trauma treatment models.
