Job DescriptionSalary: CT Technologist Position Overview The CT Technologist is the designated, site-assigned imaging professional responsible for the operation of fixed Computed Tomography (CT) equipment at the Pike County Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) or Cobb County Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) under the Atlanta Veterans Health Care System (ATLVAHCS). The CT Technologist provides diagnostic CT imaging services as part of an integrated equipment-and-staffing solution, ensuring continuous availability of imaging services during required hours of performance. Each CT Technologist is assigned exclusively to a single site and is responsible for maintaining imaging quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted daily operations in accordance with the contract requirements and VA policies. Key Responsibilities • Operate fixed, on-site CT imaging equipment to perform diagnostic examinations as specified in the contract requirements, including but not limited to spine, extremities, chest, abdomen, pelvis, head, sinus, and specialized protocols (e.g., PE, AAA, liver, pancreatic, and high-resolution lung CT)., • Perform CT imaging services five (5) days per week during established hours of performance, ensuring the CT scanner remains operational and available throughout service hours., • Prepare and screen patients prior to imaging by verifying patient identity, completing VA screening forms, confirming clinical requirements, and ensuring patient comfort and safety., • Execute CT scans in accordance with VA-approved protocols, maintaining an average patient scan time of approximately thirty (30) minutes., • Ensure immediate and accurate transfer of imaging data to VA systems (including VistA Imaging) upon completion of each scan., • Conduct daily operational readiness checks, including equipment startup, visual inspections, and coordination of any identified issues to prevent service disruption., • Maintain a clean and organized CT imaging environment, adhering to VA infection control standards, HIPAA requirements, OSHA regulations, and facility safety policies., • Communicate effectively with VA radiologists, physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to support diagnostic accuracy and patient throughput., • Comply with all VA rules, regulations, credentialing requirements, background investigation processes, and information security standards., • Support continuity of operations by adhering to assigned schedules and coordinating with backup CT technologists, as required, to minimize downtime. Qualifications and Experience • Registered CT Technologist with active certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT CT)., • Minimum of three (3) years of experience performing diagnostic CT imaging in a clinical healthcare environment., • Demonstrated experience operating multi-slice CT scanners and executing both routine and advanced imaging protocols., • Experience working in regulated healthcare environments with strict compliance, documentation, and quality requirements., • Ability to work independently at a fixed VA outpatient clinic while maintaining coordination with clinical and administrative stakeholders. Required Skills • Proficiency in CT scanner operation, patient positioning, imaging protocol execution, and image quality optimization., • Strong attention to detail to ensure diagnostic accuracy, protocol compliance, and proper documentation., • Ability to follow standardized operating procedures while adapting to site-specific clinical workflows., • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with veterans, VA staff, and clinical teams., • Familiarity with electronic medical records and imaging systems used for image transfer and documentation. Certification Requirement • Active ARRT (CT) certification., • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification., • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification., • All required training, certifications, licenses, and immunizations must remain current and valid for the duration of the contract. Clearance Requirement • Successful completion of VA background investigation and credentialing prior to performing services., • Continued compliance with VA suitability, privacy, and information security requirements throughout the period of performance. Salary Range * Competitive, market-based compensation, commensurate with experience and certifications, structured in alignment with the firm-fixed-price service delivery model.
