Job DescriptionJob Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician Job Description This role provides hands-on facilities maintenance support across multiple shopping centers, ensuring the properties remain safe, functional, and visually appealing. You will perform basic repairs, preventative maintenance, and support for events while working both independently and as part of a team in a field-based environment. Responsibilities • Inspect the property daily to identify potential hazards, damage, repair needs, and improvement opportunities., • Provide on-site coverage for assigned properties during some weekends and holidays as needed., • Monitor and report the daily performance of housekeeping and security staff to ensure consistent service quality., • Perform basic repairs to plumbing, lighting, door hardware, cement, woodwork, and painting in a timely and efficient manner., • Work collaboratively with other maintenance staff on larger projects that require a team of two or more technicians., • Maintain accurate weekly lighting reports and address lighting issues promptly., • Provide ongoing preventative maintenance for property vehicles, compactors, water features, RMUs, and other equipment., • Assist the marketing department with the execution of center events, including holiday preparation and ongoing maintenance of signage hardware., • Respond promptly to daily requests for assistance from management, tenants, and contractors, ensuring professional and courteous service., • Complete other duties as assigned to support the safe and efficient operation of the properties., • Adapt to evolving duties, responsibilities, and activities as business needs change, with or without prior notice.Essential Skills, • High School Diploma or GED., • Minimum of one year of facilities maintenance experience performing basic carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing functions., • Experience in shopping center maintenance is preferred., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a field-based environment., • Ability to read and interpret documents and comprehend written and verbal instructions., • Ability to effectively present information to departmental management and tenants., • Ability to define problems, collect information, and establish facts to support sound troubleshooting and repair decisions., • Basic computer skills for reporting and communication., • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle suitable for regular travel between properties., • Hands-on skills in facilities maintenance, including repair, preventive maintenance, painting, plumbing, mechanical work, and general troubleshooting., • Ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility for some weekend and holiday coverage as required.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with HVAC systems or exposure to HVAC-related maintenance tasks., • Prior experience supporting multiple facilities or multi-site operations., • Comfort working in collaboration with housekeeping, security, marketing, and external contractors., • Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple service requests and projects., • Customer service mindset when interacting with tenants and property stakeholders., • Willingness to work in a potential temp-to-hire arrangement with an opportunity to move into an internal role.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position supports multiple shopping centers, including Bridgeport Village, Nyberg Rivers, and additional centers within the region up to Silverdale. You will primarily work on-site at these properties and will travel between locations using your own vehicle; visits to the Silverdale property are typically required about once every three weeks for one day. The work is hands-on and field-based, involving regular movement around large retail properties, interaction with tenants, housekeeping, security, contractors, and the marketing team. You will work with tools and equipment related to plumbing, lighting, door hardware, carpentry, painting, compactors, vehicles, water features, and signage hardware. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some weekend and holiday coverage as needed. The environment is dynamic and service-oriented, requiring safe work practices, professional appearance, and readiness to respond to maintenance needs throughout the day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kirkland, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
