About the Position: The Content & Media Coordinator is a critical member of the marketing team responsible for developing, capturing, organizing, and executing high-quality visual content that promotes Spokane as a premier destination for meetings, conventions, sporting events, and leisure travel. This position serves as a primary content creator for the organization's social media and marketing initiatives, producing photography, videography, and multimedia content that supports destination marketing efforts. This role requires a highly creative and organized individual who is comfortable filming in public, appearing on location throughout the destination, and representing the Visit Spokane brand while in media attire. The position is responsible for capturing and editing photos and videos, coordinating professional media shoots, managing content production vendors, maintaining the organization's visual asset library, and ensuring media assets remain accessible and organized across multiple platforms and storage systems. The role reports directly to the VP of Marketing and collaborates closely with external agencies, community partners, and internal departments to bring Spokane's story to life through compelling visual content. Key Responsibilities: • Content Creation & Social Media Support, • Develop, capture, edit, schedule, and publish engaging content across social media platforms to support destination marketing objectives., • Produce original photo and video content formats showcasing Spokane's attractions, events, venues, partners, experiences, and community stories., • Serve as an on-camera and behind-the-camera content creator when appropriate for social media campaigns and destination storytelling., • Regularly work in the field capturing content at partner businesses, events, community activities, conventions, and special destination experiences., • Represent Visit Spokane professionally while conducting content creation activities in public settings and during partner visits., • Collaborate with the social media agency to execute content calendars and support campaign objectives., • Create short-form and long-form video content optimized for social media, digital advertising, website content, and convention sales initiatives., • Video Production, • Plan, shoot, and edit promotional videos supporting convention sales, convention services, leisure marketing, destination awareness campaigns, and partner promotions., • Produce attendance-building and event promotion videos for convention, meeting, and partner clients., • Manage all phases of video production, including concept development, storyboarding, scheduling, filming, editing, review cycles, and final delivery., • Edit video content using professional editing software to maintain brand consistency and quality standards., • Capture and edit video footage during seasonal campaigns, special events, partner activations, and destination marketing initiatives., • Photography & Visual Content Management, • Capture and edit photography for social media, the website, advertising, partner needs, publications, and destination marketing campaigns., • Maintain brand standards across all visual content while ensuring assets align with organizational messaging., • Assist in developing creative concepts and shot lists for marketing campaigns, seasonal content initiatives, and destination storytelling efforts., • Professional Photo & Video Shoot Coordination, • Source and evaluate professional photographers, videographers, and creative vendors as project needs require., • Solicit estimates, review portfolios, negotiate project scopes, and make vendor recommendations., • Coordinate shoot logistics, scheduling, permits, locations, partner participation, talent coordination, and production timelines., • Develop and manage detailed shot lists to ensure marketing objectives are achieved., • Monitor project budgets and ensure photo and video productions remain within approved spending levels., • Serve as the primary liaison between Visit Spokane, creative vendors, and community partners throughout production projects., • Digital Asset Management, • Serve as the primary administrator and steward of Visit Spokane's photo and video asset library., • Organize, catalog, archive, and maintain visual assets across CrowdRiff, Google Drive, network storage, hard drives, and other approved platforms., • Develop and maintain organizational standards, naming conventions, metadata, and folder structures., • Ensure assets are easily searchable, accessible, and available for staff, partners, agencies, and stakeholders., • Regularly audit media libraries to eliminate duplicates, archive outdated assets, and identify content gaps., • Marketing Operations & Analytics, • Manage project timelines, calendars, and deliverables for content and media projects., • Monitor content performance and social media analytics, providing recommendations for optimization., • Conduct research on content trends, platform updates, audience interests, and competitive activities., • Support CRM-related marketing activities and reporting needs as assigned., • Additional Physical/Work Environment:, • This position requires frequent travel throughout the Spokane region to capture photography and video content. Employees should be comfortable filming in public settings, interacting with community partners, and representing the organization during content production activities. Occasional evening and weekend work is required to support events, photo shoots, video productions, and social media coverage., • Adaptive Challenges:, • This position requires the ability to tackle adaptive challenges. These challenges include:, • Pivoting strategies in real-time to adjust marketing, operations, and business needs in response to unexpected shifts or new opportunities, ensuring quick and effective decision-making., • Deciphering the distinction between brand identity and campaign messaging, ensuring each is clearly defined and consistently communicated without overlap or confusion., • Overcoming barriers between departments to foster open, transparent, and effective and flexible communication, ensuring alignment and smooth collaboration across functions., • Balancing the pursuit of perfection with the need for efficiency, recognizing when further refinements no longer add value, and making decisions to move forward while maintaining quality and meeting project deadlines., • Qualifications, • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in content creation, social media management, videography, photography, digital marketing, or a related field., • Demonstrated experience capturing and editing quality video and photo content., • Proficiency with video editing platforms such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar software., • Proficiency with photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom., • Experience creating content for social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube., • Experience managing digital asset libraries and content management systems., • Ability to coordinate multiple projects, vendors, budgets, and deadlines simultaneously., • Strong visual storytelling, creative direction, and project management skills., • Experience working with photographers, videographers, agencies, and freelance creative professionals., • High proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace., • Must be able to drive or use public transportation., • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and off-site events.
