Position Summary The Commercial Services Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operational performance of BGI’s commercial services division. This role is a hands-on leadership position focused on execution, accountability, team development, client satisfaction, and scalable growth. This position reports to the Vice President of Commercial Operations and oversees managers, supervisors, and field personnel to ensure operational efficiency, quality service delivery, and financial performance. The ideal candidate is a growth-oriented operational leader who will invest long term in building structure, strengthening culture, and scaling the commercial services division over the next decade. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operational Leadership • Oversee day-to-day operations of commercial service contracts, • Ensure services are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards, • Develop efficient workflows and operational structure Team Leadership & Development • Lead, coach, and develop managers, supervisors, and field personnel, • Establish clear expectations, performance metrics, and accountability standards, • Conduct performance reviews and promote employee engagement and retention Financial Oversight • Assist in developing division budgets, • Monitor expenses and revenue performance, • Support forecasting and cost-control initiatives Client & Stakeholder Leadership • Maintain strong communication with clients and key stakeholders, • Represent BGI professionally in meetings, negotiations, and project discussions, • Address operational issues promptly and ensure high customer satisfaction, • Facilitate collaboration among internal teams and external partners Operational Excellence, Risk & Quality Management • Identify operational risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies, • Monitor project progress and adjust resources as necessary to maintain efficiency, • Ensure adherence to quality control processes and best practices, • Conduct post-project reviews to support continuous improvement Safety & Compliance • Enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements, • Ensure services are delivered in accordance with contractual and legal standardsDocumentation & Reporting, • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation and records, • Provide regular operational updates and performance reports to Executive LeadershipBusiness Growth Support, • Assist in identifying opportunities to expand service lines and improve market position, • Support proposal development and operational planning initiatives Other Duties • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned to support BGI’s operational and strategic goals. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)., • Minimum 10–15 years of progressive experience in construction management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role., • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams, delegate effectively, and resolve conflicts constructively., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure., • Experience with value engineering, cost control, and forecasting to maximize efficiency and profitability., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, executives, and field personnel., • Solid understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations; data center construction experience is a plus., • Proficiency in project management methodologies and software tools., • Certifications such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or OSHA 30-hour are a plus., • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment., • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion., • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control., • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
