Here's an explanation of the job: JOB OVERVIEW: At the direction of your Service Advisor, you’ll perform the diagnoses and repair of mechanical, electronic, gas/diesel and hydraulic material handling equipment while ensuring all repairs address the problem and not the symptom. You’ll also be expected to identify additional safety, mechanical and other items in need of repair when working on the equipment. These additional repairs are to be clearly documented on the work order as well as communicated directly to the customer with the goal of gaining approval to go forward with them before the work is done, or before leaving the job site if on the road. You’ll keep track of your time throughout the day to ensure correct billing of your 8 hours each day. You will work closely with your Service Advisor to mitigate when lost, and/or overtime may be incurred, and you’ll keep them updated on your job progress through the day. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following list describes what a fully trained service technician will be involved in. We hire service technicians based on level of experience (I, II, III, Journeyman), so you may come in as a Shop Technician, reporting to a branch location every day with an assigned bay, or as a Road Technician where you start in our Shop then progress to an assigned territory based on your learning plan and experience, or as a Fleet Technician, where you are dedicated to a large customer with one or a few locations. Equipment Repair and Maintenance • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electronic, gas/diesel and hydraulic systems on new, used and/or rental Industrial Forklifts, Aerial equipment, industrial cleaning equipment and utility vehicles/ golf carts to name a few, • Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications, • Determine if additional parts are needed to complete the repair or as a follow-up to preventive maintenance service and order necessary parts, • Add any additional repair work and time to the work order before closing, • Complete work orders daily, to maintain a clean “Work in Progress” report, • Return warranty parts within 48hrs of warranty repair. Ensure parts are tagged and labeled for accurate identification, • Notify customer to “Red Tag” equipment if it is not safe to use. Advise Customer of the safety issue(s) and obtain signature as acknowledgement that they are aware of safety issue(s). Notify Service Advisor, • Check and review work order for clarity, detail, and completeness prior to presenting to the customer for signature, • Regularly use personal protective equipment in the performance of each job, • Tracks parts inventory in service vehicle. Re-order parts as needed to keep vehicle stocked, • Keep van or assigned shop bay clean, organized, and ASEC compliant always, • If assigned a company vehicle, proactively stay on top of vehicle maintenance items, • Stay updated on current Toyota product(s) via on-line training, and any other information/ materials provided, • Attend all regularly scheduled service and safety meetings and complete assigned safety training on time, • Drive in accordance with established DMV and TMH driving rules and regulations, always being courteous, • Follow environmental and safety regulations, immediately reporting potential hazards that may cause injury to your supervisor, • Follow written policies and procedures in the company IIPP Program and Employee Handbook Required • 7+ years of experience as a Forklift Mechanic/Technician, • Minimum Toyota Certified classification, • High School diploma or equivalent, • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, • Ability to work safely under pressure, take general directions and use good judgement when working independently, • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, • Ability to shift priorities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, • Ability to act in a way that is consistent with our values, • Basic knowledge of computer and ability to type information and take photos with a mobile device, • Ability to drive a motor vehicle and other industrial equipment if necessary to travel to customer site(s) and test equipment, • ASE certifications, • Master Certified Technician (non-Toyota considered), • Approximately 80% is spent bending, squatting, standing, or moving about the work area, • Approximately 15% could be spent driving to and from customer sites and/or forklift equipment, • Approximately 5% is spent seated at a desk, working on the telephone or at a computer terminal, • Operation of foot controls or repetitive foot movement required for driving equipment including forklift and motor vehicle, • Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance and 100 pounds with assistance from others or utilizing a lifting device Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Job Description: The Low Voltage Technician (Level III) is a senior-level position responsible for the advanced installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of complex low-voltage systems, including communication, security, and audio-visual systems. In this role, the technician will take the lead on high-priority projects, ensuring that all installations and services meet or exceed industry standards. This position requires expert-level technical knowledge and hands-on experience to resolve complex issues, perform system diagnostics, and make recommendations for system improvements. The Level III technician will also mentor and train junior technicians, provide technical support to the team, and collaborate closely with project managers and clients to ensure successful project delivery. Job Duties: • Safely wire, install, and program low voltage products per project guidelines on an enterprise level., • Promptly troubleshoot and diagnose hardware, software and network problems, • Knowledge of Phone-Off premise/ Cloud solutions, • Advanced knowledge of Audio-visual installation and programing., • Complete all required paperwork and reports as required, • Represent Sebastian in a professional manner including appearance, promptness, thoroughness, jobsite cleanliness, courtesy and other relevant behavior, • Effectively communicate the arrival time and job scope with customers, • Keep an accurate accounting of all tools, equipment, and materials, • Complete safety documentation and vehicle inspections on-time and accurately, • Stay abreast of new technologies and upgrades, • Program & troubleshoot, in detail, low voltage equipment, including: burglar alarm, business phone systems, access control, CCTV, A/V, etc., • Upsell and/or cross-sell Sebastian products and services to both new and existing customers, • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary. Job Requirements: • Minimum of 5+ years experience in 75% of our products and services required, • Fire-FLS safety certification preferred., • Experience with programming one or more of our products, • Excellent troubleshooting skills & ability to diagnose and fix hardware/ software/ network issue, • Proficient in using a variety of resources (Internet, vendor support, etc.) to research issues, • Ability to read and dissect blue print floor plans, • Must have a high School diploma or equivalent, • Basic computer and software skills (Microsoft Office and other applications), • Willing to travel and work occasional overtime/ weekend hours, • Willing to work both private and prevailing wage projects, • Ability to work well independently and with others, • Must comply with all company policies and safety procedures, • Excellent oral and written communication skills, • Actively participate in a team environment and practice the Corporate and Spirit of 46 values., • Valid California drivers license and favorable DMV record.
