Job DescriptionDescription: Summary The Non-CDL Commercial Truck Driver position is responsible for driving a vehicle with a capacity less than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) to transport products and performing a variety of warehouse tasks to coordinate the delivery of those products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Drive vehicle with capacity less than 26,000 or less pounds GVW while applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations to transport and deliver goods, • Follow all Department of Transportation rules, regulations, policies and procedures and notify Management of any violations or driving disqualifications (e.g. driving violations, changes in driving status, criminal offenses, etc.), • Cautiously maneuver truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from team members to ensure safety, • Drive truck to weigh station before and after loading and along route to determine weight and conform to safety and driving regulations, • Maintain telephone contact with warehouse to receive instructions to be dispatched to new location and/or report incidents, accidents or problems encountered en route, • Inspect truck before and after trips and submit report indicating truck condition and report serious mechanical problems to supervisor, • Understand and plan a fast and safe delivery route using maps or satellite tracking while calculating time to ensure timely delivery, • Obtain customer’s signature to confirm delivery of products, • Maintain driver mileage log according to regulations, policies and procedures, • Maintains accurate fuel log detailing date and amount of fuel pumped into truck that correlate with miles en route, • Prepare products to be delivered (e.g. confirm product order, label, pack and secure load with straps, etc.), • Assist in the safe staging, loading and unloading of products on/off truck while ensuring security of goods at all times, • Inventory and inspect products to be received or delivered, • Ensure cleanliness and proper stocking of inventory in the work area, • Maintain quality in the warehouse and report all damaged inventory, • Keep equipment (e.g. truck, tractor-trailer, van, forklift, etc.) clean and in good working order, • Maintain a professional relationship with customers, other drivers vendors and associates, • Efficiently carry out all orders of supervisors while harmoniously working as part of a team, • Obtain Forklift Certification according to Company requirements, • Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems and personal computers while following Company Confidentiality requirements, • Utilize computerized data entry equipment and various word processing, spreadsheet and file maintenance programs to enter, store and/or retrieve information, • Manage time to determine priorities in order to effectively accomplish a broad range of activities, • Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities to drive process improvements that positively impact the customer’s experience, • Follow all Company Policies, Procedures and Protocols, • Previous commercial driving experience, • Previous experience working in a warehouse environment preparing shipments, • Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate effectively in the English language, • Ability to handle complaints and unpleasant customers using decision making and analytical abilities, • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access), • Strong organizational skills, strong attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and ability to professionally complete administrative tasks, • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records and other office procedures and terminology, • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments, • Ability to work collectively with team members, • Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction, • Position in a warehouse environment and requires the use of various types of equipment (heavy machinery, forklifts, computers, etc.), • Requires light to heavy lifting, • Sitting: Constant 67-100% -
