Job DescriptionJob Title: General Production Worker Job Description This role involves supporting ceramic and glass tile manufacturing by sorting, lifting, catching, and packaging tile while carefully inspecting for quality. You will prepare and mix raw materials for ceramic tile and glazes, operate production machinery, and perform basic assembly tasks in a fast-paced industrial environment. The position requires comfort working in a very dirty, hot, and dusty setting with large equipment, as well as strong attention to detail and a commitment to reliability and safety. Responsibilities • Sort, lift, catch, and package tile while continuously inspecting for quality control to ensure products meet standards., • Stack tile from pallets onto conveyors in accurate counts, such as repeatedly counting stacks of 10 tiles and placing them onto the line., • Prepare and mix raw materials for ceramic tile and glazes according to specified procedures and measurements., • Operate production machinery safely and efficiently, following established operating procedures and guidelines., • Perform basic assembly tasks related to tile production, packaging, and inspection., • Clean production lines when they are not running, including sweeping, spraying lines down with a hose, and removing debris., • Maintain a clean and organized work area despite the messy and wet conditions inherent to the role., • Work around large industrial machines and equipment while following safety protocols and using required protective gear., • Use logical thinking to solve practical problems and remain self-sufficient under general supervision., • Demonstrate consistent, exceptional attendance, reliability, and performance to support production schedules., • Perform constant repetitive movements, including twisting, bending, kneeling, and crouching throughout the shift., • Regularly lift and move objects up to 50 pounds for the duration of the shift., • Follow all safety requirements in dusty and high-heat areas, including wearing face masks or respirators when required., • Collaborate with team members and adapt to different positions within the production area as needed., • Adhere to company policies, including appropriate use of personal devices, such as listening to music with one earbud when permitted and safe. Essential Skills • Previous manufacturing or general production experience, particularly in environments with large industrial machines and equipment., • Strong attention to detail, especially when counting and handling tile in repetitive production tasks., • Demonstrated ability to perform constant repetitive motions, including twisting, bending, kneeling, and crouching., • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds throughout the shift., • Comfort working in a very dirty, wet, and dusty industrial environment with hot conditions near kilns., • Ability to solve practical problems using logic and to work self-sufficiently under general supervision., • Proven track record of exceptional attendance, reliability, and performance in previous roles., • Experience with production, general labor, assembly, packaging, and inspection tasks., • Willingness to get dirty and handle messy tasks as part of daily responsibilities., • Ability to follow safety protocols, including wearing face masks or respirators when required. Work Environment The role is based in a ceramic and glass tile manufacturing facility housed in an older industrial building that may appear rough and intimidating from the outside. Inside, there is a large amount of big, dirty, dusty industrial equipment and many dark areas, reflecting a traditional heavy manufacturing environment. The job is very dirty, and you should expect to get dirt, glaze, and water on your clothes, especially when cleaning lines with hoses. The facility is very dusty in certain areas due to silica, and face masks are required where necessary; employees are test-fitted for respirators to ensure proper protection. Work takes place around kilns, so some areas can become very hot. The position involves constant repetitive movement, including twisting, bending, kneeling, and crouching, as well as regularly lifting and moving up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. The environment supports focused work, and in appropriate and safe situations, employees may be allowed to listen to music with one earbud. Overall, this is a physically demanding, hands-on production role in a high-heat, high-dust industrial setting that requires consistent use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane Valley, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
