Job DescriptionJob Title: Assembler Job Description The Assembler fabricates and assembles a wide variety of assemblies and supporting hardware by applying proven assembly techniques and using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and production equipment. This role reads and interprets blueprints, work orders, and related documentation to determine the correct method and sequence of operations, as well as dimensional and finish specifications. The Assembler also maintains accurate inventory records while ensuring all products meet customer and internal quality, delivery, and cost objectives. Responsibilities • Assemble and calibrate production parts in accordance with established procedures and quality standards., • Read, locate, and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, ATPs, specifications, and work instructions to determine requirements, methods, and sequence of operations., • Fabricate and assemble a variety of different assemblies and supporting hardware using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment., • Complete all required documentation accurately, including travelers, pull sheets, and forms for shipments., • Lift and handle materials and test manifolds, including items weighing at least 30 pounds, in a safe and controlled manner., • Mix ingredients, primers, adhesives, and sealants according to specified formulas and instructions., • Trim, drill, ream, grind, sand, and finish parts using templates, hand tools, and power tools as required to meet dimensional and finish specifications., • Ensure all assemblies and final products comply with customer specifications and requirements, including shipping details., • Support and meet quality, on-time-in-full (OTIF), and cost goals established by the organization., • Use E10 transactions and job-related dashboards, including part and job trackers, to manage work orders, inventory, and production status., • Assemble multiple products within a cell or across multiple lines, as demonstrated by the training matrix and cross-training records., • Inspect all final products to verify compliance with customer requirements and internal standards before shipment., • Assist the team in evaluating trends in labor standards, costs, and process performance to identify and implement process improvements., • Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization., • Complete all required training on time and remain current with updated procedures, standards, and safety requirements., • Adhere to corporate environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies and follow department-, occupation-, and task-specific safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)., • Perform other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned by leadership., • Participate in packboard assembly and large assembly operations as required., • Perform hand drilling and riveting, including squeeze riveting, following specified techniques and quality standards., • Measure Buckhead rivets and verify proper installation after successful completion of riveting tasks.Essential Skills, • 1–2 years of manufacturing assembly experience required; 3+ years of experience in a regulated industry such as aerospace preferred., • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, ATPs, specifications, schematics, and work instructions., • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly in a production or assembly line environment., • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for drilling, riveting, trimming, grinding, sanding, and finishing parts., • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and apply assembly techniques and precision measurements., • Ability to assemble and calibrate production parts to meet dimensional and performance requirements., • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use production systems such as E10 transactions, job-related dashboards, and part/job trackers., • Ability to meet deadlines, plan work effectively, and manage multiple tasks in a production environment., • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and contribute to team goals., • Goal-oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team., • Experience with Continuous Improvement or Lean manufacturing practices., • Ability to lift up to at least 30 pounds and, depending on assignment, perform manual lifting activities up to 40 pounds for a single individual., • Ability, depending on assignment, to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for prolonged periods, and reposition the body as required for various tasks., • Willingness to submit to and satisfactorily complete any pre-employment screening required., • Willingness to complete medical exams required by law in relation to specific occupational activities and physical work environment., • High school diploma or GED.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working in a regulated industry, particularly aerospace, is highly desirable., • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and participation in continuous improvement initiatives., • Experience with packboard assembly and large assembly operations., • Skill in hand drilling and riveting, including squeeze riveting techniques., • Ability to measure and verify Buckhead rivets and other fasteners after installation., • Comfort working with primers, adhesives, and sealants, including mixing to specification., • Attention to detail and strong commitment to product quality and compliance with customer requirements., • Ability to support evaluation of labor standards, costs, and process improvements., • Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate inventory and production records.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates on a 2nd shift schedule, working Monday through Thursday from 2:00 pm to 12:00 am, with an additional shift differential. The role is based in a production environment where you will work with mechanical assemblies, packboard and large assemblies, and perform tasks such as hand drilling, squeeze riveting, trimming, grinding, sanding, and finishing. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and production machinery, as well as computer-based systems such as E10 and job dashboards to manage work orders and track parts and jobs. The physical environment may require standing or sitting for extended periods, using stairs, repositioning the body to perform various tasks, and safely lifting materials and components up to 40 pounds depending on assignment. The workplace follows established environmental, health, and safety protocols, and you will use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by specific tasks and departmental guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
