Job DescriptionSalary: Hiring Range (Monthly Pay): $5,757 - $6,583 HUMAN RESOURCE (HR) GENERALIST Job Code: HRGNRLST Reports To: Director, Human Resources Base Location: Arizona Only Work Status: Hybrid/Physical Office Minimum Starting Monthly Range: $5,757 Hiring Range (Monthly Pay): $5,757 - $6,583 Full-time / Part-time: Full-time Exempt / Non-Exempt: Exempt Risk Designation: Extremely High Summary: The Human Resources Generalist provides comprehensive HR support with a primary emphasis on talent acquisition and secondary emphasis on leave of absence administration. This role manages the full-cycle recruitment process, partnering closely with hiring managers to ensure high-quality talent acquisition practices and an exceptional candidate experience. The HR Generalist also administers leave programs, interprets employment laws, provides generalist support across HR functions, and contributes to compliance, employee relations, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position is based in Phoenix, Arizona and requires local as in office work will be required. Our strategic flexibility allows for local work from home opportunities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Primary Focus: Hiring & Recruitment • Lead and manage full-cycle recruitment, including requisition intake, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer execution., • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop accurate job descriptions and hiring strategies., • Build and maintain strong pipelines using proactive sourcing, job boards, social platforms, networking, and community partnerships., • Ensure compliant selection processes aligned with EEO, ADA, OFCCP (if applicable), and state and federal hiring regulations., • Deliver a high-quality candidate experience through consistent communication and structured evaluations., • Facilitate hiring manager training on interviewing techniques, bias mitigation, and lawful hiring practices., • Coordinate the offer process, engaging Compensation and HR leadership to ensure equitable and competitive salary decisions., • Support onboarding activities, including documentation, pre-employment screenings, and new hire setup., • Track and analyze recruiting metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, quality of hire, diversity of pipeline) and recommend improvements. Secondary Focus: Leaves of Absence & Accommodations • Administer leaves including FMLA, ADA/ADAAA, parental, military, personal, and other state/local programs., • Manage all leave-related documentation, notices, certifications, and case tracking to ensure legal compliance., • Conduct or support the interactive process for accommodations and maintain confidential, accurate documentation., • Coordinate with Benefits and Payroll teams regarding pay, benefit continuation, and timekeeping during leave., • Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding leave requirements, expectations, and return to work processes. Employment Law & Compliance • Apply strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws across recruitment, leaves, wage and hour, and employee relations., • Support development, maintenance, and communication of HR policies, handbooks, and compliance updates., • Maintain compliance reporting, audit documentation, personnel files, and regulatory postings., • Monitor legislative changes and recommend updates to internal processes to ensure ongoing compliance. Generalist & HR Operations Support • Provide guidance to employees and leaders on policies, performance management, corrective action, and conflict resolution., • Maintain HRIS accuracy, generate HR reports, and support annual HR cycles such as performance reviews and merit processes., • Contribute to HR initiatives such as onboarding enhancements, engagement projects, Inclusion efforts, and process optimization., • Performs other related duties as assigned Skills • Skilled in sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection using compliant and structured practices., • Working knowledge of employment law across recruitment, leaves, wage & hour, and accommodations., • Understanding of laws related to hiring, leaves, accommodations, EEO, FLSA, and confidentiality., • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to draft clear notices, candidate communications, and HR documentation., • Ability to establish strong partnerships with hiring managers, employees, and candidates., • Capable of interpreting HR data and identifying trends to inform decision making., • Proven ability to manage multiple requisitions, cases, deadlines, and priorities with attention to detail., • Competent in HRIS, ATS systems, and Microsoft Office/Excel; comfortable learning new systems., • Ability to assess situations, apply legal and policy guidelines, and escalate appropriately., • Demonstrated discretion in handling sensitive employee and company information., • Delivers responsive, courteous, and solution-oriented support to internal and external stakeholders., • Ability to identify workflow gaps and recommend enhancements to recruiting and HR processes. Education/Experience • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience., • Minimum of 35+ years of HR experience with strong emphasis on full-cycle recruitment., • Experience administering FMLA, ADA/ADAAA, or other leave processes., • Experience in healthcare or technology preferred., • Experience supporting multi-state workforces a plus., • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred, • Proficiency with HRIS and ATS platforms; BambooHR, UKG or similar systems a plus.
