Job DescriptionTechnical HVAC/R Trainer Lead. Train. Develop the Next Generation of HVAC/R Professionals. We are seeking a Technical HVAC/R Trainer to deliver high-quality technical training that drives workforce development, safety, compliance, and technical excellence across our HVAC/R service and project teams. This is a high-impact role for someone passionate about building talent, shaping careers, and elevating performance. As the Trainer, you will be the go-to expert for onboarding, technical growth, and career development for our technicians. You’ll interact directly with the team, both in the classroom and in the field, ensuring each technician has the skills and confidence to excel. What You’ll Be Doing Technical Training & Development • Develop and deliver technical training programs for HVAC/R service technicians, installers, and apprentices, • Conduct hands-on classroom and field-based training covering residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC/R systems, • Teach best practices in refrigeration cycles, electrical diagnostics, airflow, controls, combustion, troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation, • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, EPA refrigerant regulations, and NJ-specific codes, • Support onboarding and continuing education for newly hired and tenured technicians, • Collaborate with operations and safety leadership to address performance gaps, • Maintain and update training materials, manuals, and assessments, • Evaluate technician skill levels and recommend development plans, • Stay current with industry technology, tools, codes, and manufacturer updates, • Prepare lab areas, lesson plans, and schedule classes on pull-through work, schematics/electrical, and commercial installation practices Technician Interaction, • Build strong relationships with technicians and be recognized as the go-to Trainer for onboarding, safety, and career development, • Get to know the team in person and understand their strengths, challenges, and career goals, • Deliver on-site, department-specific training as needed Growth Path & Career Development, • Align with company Core Values, • Complete technical courses including Interplay and Lochinvar classes, and fully understand and explain maintenance tasks, • Obtain commercial training relevant to the field: lifts, confined space, Right-to-Know, forklift, LOTO, rigging, OSHA 30, etc., • Learn commercial HVAC systems: WSHP, RTUs, ice machines, and maintenance tasks, • Fully immerse in internal training programs and documentation review, • Conduct assessments and develop career plans for all technicians, • Assist with development and expansion of the training lab, • Create training modules and competency labs for service and project technicians Accountabilities / KPIs, • Track quarterly completion goals for training initiatives, • Enroll technicians in career-building training, • Log training hours conducted, • Build technician engagement through training connections, • Grow and improve training facilities, • Competitive salary, • 100% company-paid healthcare, • Dental and vision coverage, • 401(k) with 4% company contribution, • Life insurance, • 2 weeks PTO starting year one, • +1 additional day each year (up to 5 weeks total), • Fully equipped training labs, • Access to necessary tools, equipment, and PPE, • Structured apprenticeship and continuing education programs, • Mentorship and leadership development, • Clear path to expand responsibilities and impact across the organization Why This Role Stands Out, • Be a key driver of workforce development and career growth, • Influence and shape the skills of service and project technicians, • Work in a supportive, high-performing environment with the tools and resources you need
