Job Description Pump Mechanic – Industrial Repair Technician Location: Lakeland, FL Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift Work Type: Full-Time, Shop-Based This role focuses on the tear-down, inspection, rebuild, and testing of industrial pumps and rotating equipment in an OEM-authorized repair environment. This is a hands-on, shop-based position for a skilled mechanic who takes pride in quality workmanship, problem-solving, and doing the job right the first time. Key Responsibilities • Disassemble, inspect, diagnose, and rebuild industrial pumps and rotating equipment to OEM standards, • Perform complete tear-down and rebuild of centrifugal, vertical turbine, and multistage pumps, • Work on gearboxes, blowers, valves, and related rotating equipment, • Identify root cause of equipment failure and document repair scope and parts needs, • Replace bearings, seals, shafts, impellers, and wear components, • Perform laser alignment and precision reassembly, • Conduct performance testing of rebuilt equipment, • Assist with field troubleshooting, installations, and start-ups as needed, • Perform limited manual machining to support repair work, • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused shop environment Required Qualifications • 3+ years of experience repairing/rebuilding industrial pumps or rotating equipment, • Strong experience with positive displacement and centrifugal pumps (ANSI/API, multistage, split-case, vertical turbine), • Ability to independently complete full pump tear-down and rebuild, • Familiarity with laser alignment, • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and parts diagrams, • Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators), • Valid driver’s license, • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail, • Professional, reliable, and able to work well in a team environment Preferred Skills • Basic manual machining experience (helpful but not required), • Experience with OEM pump repair standards, • Background in rotating equipment service environments What We Offer • Stable, established company with 36 locations across 16 states, • Long-term employment philosophy with no history of layoffs, • Realistic workloads and strong focus on quality workmanship, • Big-company resources with a local shop feel, • Annual incentive program, • Quarterly shop performance bonuses, • Profit sharing (via 401k), • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, • Paid time off and 10 paid holidaysCompany DescriptionMobile Staff Solutions is a full-service staffing company dedicated to efficiently and effectively managing our clients hiring process by: Delivering better candidates by customizing the screening and assessment process for each and every customer.
