This is a working lead role—you’ll groom dogs while helping the team grow. The right person leads by example, communicates openly, and takes pride in a trusted, stress-free experience for every dog. What You’ll Do: • Groom and teach to Scenthound standards—the puppy cut: one length all over with a neat face, • Lead, guide, and mentor Bathers and Groomers-in-training, • Help set the pace and tone for productivity and on-time service in the back of house, • Provide hands-on support to keep grooming flowing during the day, • Promote and follow safety and sanitation standards on every dog, • Help identify areas to improve and put solutions into practice, • Create a positive, communicative team environment, • Take on other tasks as assigned by the Scenter Manager This Lead Groomer Position Requires: • At least five years of grooming experience, • Knowledge of dog breeds, care standards, and the tools of the trade, • Strength to lift up to 70 pounds and stamina to stand for long periods, • Confidence and empathy handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments, • A team player who takes initiative and follows through, • Fear-free certification and Dog CPR certified are a plus, • Reliable transportation, • Willingness to work in a smoke-free environment Skills and Abilities: • Clear communication with team members and dog parents, • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and attention to detail, • Solid time management, • Ability to self-critique and hold yourself—and your team—to high grooming standards Ready to Lead the Pack?
