After-School Program Group Leader The Group Leader is responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising all activities for an assigned group in the after-school program. This position ensures safety standards are upheld at all times, follows and enforces Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and ACT policies, and provides exceptional customer service to participants and their families. General Duties Supervise and ensure the well-being of all after-school program participants. Plan, implement, and lead a variety of recreational activities, including team-building games, arts, and enrichment programs. Provide quality customer service through positive interaction with participants, staff, guardians, and the public. Maintain the highest level of safety and risk management at all times. Respond appropriately to all emergencies and report incidents to the appropriate supervisor. Attend on-site training sessions led by the Executive Director and School-Age Child Care (SAC) team. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a group setting (not including babysitting). Must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate. Group Leaders may work between 5–9 hours per day (with breaks) if selected. Summer Camp: During summer break, Group Leaders may be hired to work up to 40 hours per week if selected.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and deliver daily mathematics lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and state standards. Teach mathematical concepts such as ratios, proportions, integers, geometry, algebraic thinking, data analysis, and probability. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students. Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, tests, classwork, homework, and projects. Use technology and interactive tools to enhance math instruction and student engagement. Maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment that supports learning and promotes positive behavior. Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and colleagues regarding student progress and behavior. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives. Attend professional development workshops, faculty meetings, and school events as required. Maintain accurate and timely student records, including grades, attendance, and behavior. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred). Valid state teaching certification in Middle School Mathematics (or eligible). Prior teaching experience in a middle school setting is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of middle school math content and pedagogy. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Proficiency with educational technology tools (e.g., Google Classroom, SMART Boards, etc.). Preferred Skills: Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices. Familiarity with Common Core State Standards or equivalent. Ability to foster a growth mindset and a love of mathematics in students. Collaborative and team-oriented attitude.

Position Summary We are seeking an Afterschool Teacher to guide one of the groups of our afterschool program. This role includes greeting students, supporting children ages 3–8, coordinating some classroom activities, and providing a safe, engaging, and structured environment. The Lead Teacher will work alongside assistant staff, specialists, and the program director to deliver developmentally appropriate activities across our themed rooms.
