Job Description SUMMARY: Our organization is looking for an enthusiastic Generalist to join the General Obstetrics and Gynecology division within the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences. This role as an Instructor/Assistant Professor presents a unique chance to engage in our clinical, educational, and research initiatives while delivering exceptional, patient-focused care. The ideal candidate will collaborate with faculty, fellows, residents, and students, actively participating in clinical duties, teaching, and scholarly pursuits. Clinical Care: Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based obstetric and gynecological services in both inpatient and outpatient environments, including management of labor and delivery, routine and high-risk prenatal care, outpatient gynecology, and both office-based and surgical procedures. Participate in on-call duties (evenings and weekends) at the affiliated university hospital. Collaborate with academic, administrative, and clinical teams to ensure high-quality patient care. Assist in the creation and refinement of clinical protocols for obstetric services, including those involving external contractors. Complete all necessary clinical documentation, reports, claims, and correspondence promptly and accurately. Ensure timely contracting and credentialing with both public and private payers. Dedicate the required time and professional effort to provide care that meets established community standards. Teaching & Education: Oversee and instruct OB/GYN residents and medical students during labor and delivery, in surgical settings, and in outpatient clinics. Deliver lectures, engage in Grand Rounds, mentor trainees, and support the educational objectives of the department. Provide training and education for nurses, sonographers, and other personnel involved in obstetric services. Academic / Scholarly Activity: Engage in research, clinical studies, quality improvement projects, or other scholarly endeavors that align with departmental and institutional objectives. Maintain and enhance professional qualifications, including board certification and state licensure, while participating in ongoing professional development. Administrative / Departmental Service: Take part in departmental meetings, hospital committees, and institutional initiatives. Contribute to administrative tasks as necessary, which may involve clinic oversight or support for specialized care areas. Work alongside departmental leadership and colleagues to further the mission of the medical school and health system. Stay informed about all relevant federal, state, and organizational regulations, laws, and policies, adapting to changes as they arise. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: MD/DO degree or equivalent (e.g., MBBS). Board Certified (or eligible) by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Completion of a Board-accredited residency program in General Obstetrics & Gynecology. Eligibility for medical licensure, DEA, and CDS in the state of New Jersey.
