Job Description Crisis Line Clinician (Onsite Only) Full-Time | Non-Exempt - Shift: Sunday - Thursday 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Department: Suicide Prevention Pay: $87,360 - $98,670 Position Summary The Crisis Line Clinician provides suicide prevention and mental health crisis services by answering crisis hotline calls, chats, and texts (including 988). This role delivers immediate risk assessment, crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, and linkage to appropriate community and clinical resources for individuals experiencing mental health crises, psychosis, or substance use concerns. This is an onsite position requiring flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as needed. Key Responsibilities • Respond to 24/7 suicide prevention and mental health crisis calls, chats, and texts, • Conduct suicide risk assessments using evidence-based protocols, • Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and safety/action planning, • Screen callers and connect them to appropriate levels of care (mobile crisis teams, crisis stabilization units, urgent care, outpatient services, etc.), • Perform follow-up calls and ongoing crisis support as clinically indicated, • Utilize Motivational Interviewing, brief interventions, and harm-reduction strategies, • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in electronic health records, • Collaborate with leadership and clinical teams to ensure trauma-informed and culturally responsive care, • Support quality improvement, data collection, and satisfaction surveys, • Adhere to all ethical, legal, and professional standards, including HIPAA and Mandated Reporting, • Participate in required trainings, supervision, and ongoing professional development, • Registered and in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as ACSW, AMFT, or APCC, • Licensed clinicians or registrants who have passed the CA Law & Ethics Exam preferred, • Minimum 1 year of experience in clinical assessment, crisis intervention, suicide risk, substance use, and/or co-occurring disorders preferred, • Experience with Motivational Interviewing, DBT, and Trauma-Informed CBT preferred, • Strong verbal and written communication skills with exceptional active listening ability, • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, • Strong technological skills (multi-line phones, EHRs, Microsoft Office), • Commitment to serving underserved and diverse populations, • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights, • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record, • Competitive annual salary, • Medical, dental, and vision insurance at reduced employee cost, • Company-paid life insurance and long-term disability, • Retirement plan with company match and no vesting requirement, • Paid time off, paid sick leave, and 11 paid holidays annually, • Paid bereavement and jury duty leave, • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), • Company-paid malpractice insurance, • Annual professional development hours Company DescriptionFor over 30 years, clients and candidates have entrusted AtWork to provide workforce solutions nationwide.
