Job Description Composite Technician - Poway, CA - 1st and 2nd Shift - $25/hr-$31/hr Job Description We are seeking Level II and Level III Composite Technicians to join our team. Candidates will undergo a comprehensive training program. Working in a dynamic and loud manufacturing environment, you will handle various epoxy agents, perform repetitive and standard procedures, and assist in the fabrication, curing, and assembly of composite materials using pre-determined methods and sequences. Responsibilities • Work with blueprints, templates, sample parts, and process sheets., • Assist in the preparation of molds and forms., • Mark and cut tape, woven material, honeycomb, adhesive, and similar materials., • Route, drill, trim, and sand parts to blueprint dimensions and tolerances., • Vacuum bag parts for room temperature cure and assist in the lay-up of composite materials to molds., • Fit and smooth successive layers of materials to secure build-up free from wrinkles, air pockets, and voids., • Assemble aircraft components using structural adhesives, rivets, and threaded fasteners., • Prepare surfaces and paint composite and metal components, including bodywork and contour shaping., • Apply spray coatings using a high-volume low-pressure spray gun., • Assist in the development of shop aids for fabrication, trimming, and assembly., • Monitor expiration dates of materials and prepare proper mixes of resins and catalysts., • Maintain quality control records and ensure a clean and organized work area., • Familiarity with composites, manufacturing, layup, lamination, and blueprints., • Experience with vacuum bagging, aerospace processes, autoclaves, fabrication, prepreg, and carbon fiber., • Ability to verbally communicate, read, and comprehend detailed blueprints and instructions., • Proficiency in using hand tools like rollers, paper cutters, scissors, and electric heat guns., • Strong work ethic and stability in previous roles., • Respirator certification may be required. The role requires attention to safety protocols and may involve extended hours. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.50 - $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
