American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Chandler, Arizona. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Labor and Delivery, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Position is in the Labor & Delivery unit of an acute care setting, • Unit includes 18 LDRP beds, 14-bed OB triage area, and 8-bed antepartum section, • Average 8-10 deliveries per day, with 2 fully equipped ORs for c-sections, • Nurse-to-patient ratios generally follow AWHONN guidelines: 2:1 typical, 4:1 antepartum, 1:1 c-sections, • Uses Cerner EMR system and Fetal LInk for electronic fetal monitoring, • Night shift schedule (1900-0700) with 12-hour shifts, • Required to work 4 weekend shifts per schedule and 2 of 3 major holidays, • Floating may be required to Mother/Baby or Postpartum units as needed, • No mandatory call or standby required, but voluntary options available, • OB Hospitalist, anesthesia, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services are available 24/7, • Role involves caring for laboring and preterm patients, gestational age 28+ weeks, • Must confidently circulate and recover c-section patients (scrubbing not required), • Care provided in a Level II EQ and Level 1 Trauma Center environment, • Must be able to float to MB/PP units as needed, • Blue scrubs are required, • Must not have been employed (FT, PT, or PRN) by CommonSpirit facilities in the past year, • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility if applying from certain states (AZ, NV, NE, IA, MN), • Holiday coverage is required for at least two of the three major holidays during the contract, • A one-week unit-specific orientation is provided at the start of the assignment\n \n Requirements\n, • Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration, • Minimum four years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience, • Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required, • Must have experience circulating and recovering c-sections, • Experience titrating Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate drips per protocol required, • Proficiency in computer charting; Cerner EMR experience preferred, • Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with an 80% score (maximum two attempts) prior to offer, • Must pass a simulation lab and sterile technique assessment during orientation, • Two professional references: one supervisor from the past 12 months, one peer or supervisor from the past three years, • Copy of driver’s license required for consideration\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
