American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Springfield, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: OR - Operating Room, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 06/01/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 10 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 4x10hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Jun 1, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Day shift, 4x10 schedule, 06:30–17:00, • 13-week assignment, • Main OR setting within a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and Level 2 Stroke Center, • OR suite includes Main OR (22 beds), ASC (8 beds), and Ortho (10 beds), • Patient population ranges from outpatient to critical care inpatient, • 1:1 patient ratio, • DaVinci robotic surgical system and various OR equipment in use, • Epic EMR, • On-call required on any scheduled day, averaging 5 or fewer calls per 8-week period, • Weekend hours as required by the facility, • Floating as required by the facilityRequirements, • Active RN license — must meet eligibility requirements for Missouri licensure or hold a current MO or Compact RN license, • BLS certification from AHA required, • Minimum 2 years of Level 1 or 2 Trauma OR experience required; teaching hospital experience may be considered, • Scrub and OR Circulator experience required, • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Vascular experience required, • Competency in conscious sedation required, • Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs are not accepted, • No employment gaps of 90 or more days within the past 12 monthsAdditional Information, • Assists vascular surgeons in the OR and Hybrid Imaging Suite for endovascular and open vascular cases, • Works alongside a team of nurses and surgical techs, • Performs direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, • Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments, • Physical demands include standing and walking for most of the shift, lifting and pushing patients on stretchers and wheelchairs, and the ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs and pinch up to 15 lbs, • Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted, • Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers between November 1 and April 1 — declinations are not accepted, • Up to 5 days of RTO allowed, but must be made up during the assignment With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
