Job Description Apply Here: The Activity Supervisor plays a pivotal role in coordinating and overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of extracurricular activities and events within the non-public school setting. This position involves providing guiding a team of activities assistants, ensuring the smooth execution of programs that enhance student engagement, social interaction, and overall school community cohesion. The Lead Activities Instructional Aide collaborates closely with school administrators, teachers, and staff to align activities with educational goals, promote student development, and maintain a safe and supportive environment. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required., • One year experience working in a special education environment preferred., • One year experience in leading recreational activities preferred., • Successfully pass competency tests related to the accurate and thorough documentation of incidents and effective communication practices., • A valid California driver’s license is required of staff who have regular driving duties, and the driving record must meet the requirements of their position and be approved by the agency’s insurance company. Essential Job Functions: • Physical capability to restrain children, lift 20 lbs, and engage in physical activities including various sports, sitting, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, reaching, etc., • Physical, mental and emotional health adequate to perform job duties., • Ability to work effectively with cultural/ethnic diversity., • Ability to implement/supervise/evaluate a recreational program., • Protect and honor individual integrity through confidentiality., • Ability to work in a harmonious manner with subordinates, supervisors, and others., • Demonstrates reliable and punctual attendance to ensure continuous support and presence for students and staff., • Maintain current Medic First Aid certification and respond appropriately to medical incidents, ensuring the health and safety of clients and staff., • Participate in and successfully complete the 28-hour initial Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training and maintain certification through a minimum of 12 hours of annual refresher training., • Consistently apply TCI principles to manage crises safely and effectively, in alignment with trauma-informed care and agency protocols. Responsibilities: • Each leader is directly accountable for the outcomes of their program or area of responsibility through a mindset of ownership, continuous improvement, and follow-through., • Responsible for implementing leadership development concepts in staff oversight, including time management, purposeful coaching and development, effective communication, and meeting facilitation., • Manage day-to-day operations and ensure compliance with all personnel legal requirements, including staff oversight, hiring, scheduling meal periods, and approving timesheets., • Provide training and guidance and mentorship of frontline staff., • Promote a healthy working environment that values staff and equips them to succeed while making sustainable decisions in a way that strengthens both our workforce and our impact., • Implement department/program objectives., • Responsible for contract review and ensuring deliverables are met. (Maintenance), • Responsible for executing organizational strategies and initiatives., • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (such as HIPAA) for reports, records, and policies as outlined in contracts., • Develop and maintain a procedural manual for program operations., • Responsible for identifying and mitigating risks associated with potential adverse events, outcomes, or behaviors stemming from legal, ethical, or operational process breakdowns., • Lead the planning and organization of school events, extracurricular activities, and special programs., • Manage and allocate resources, including supplies, equipment, and facilities, needed for activities., • Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and external stakeholders regarding activity details, updates, and outcomes., • Maintain accurate records, compile reports, develop and distribute surveys, and document details for future activities., • Responsible for preventing and controlling infection., • Responsible for maintaining a culture of quality and safety., • Responsible for reducing the risk of injury to clients, staff, and visitors., • Effectively use de-escalation skills and techniques for crisis prevention., • Properly administer the C-SSRS to help prevent suicide., • Effectively use Therapeutic Crisis Intervention techniques for crisis prevention and/or intervention., • Effectively communicate with clients with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to teach life domain skills and adhere to principles of normalization., • Provide weekly lesson plans to supervisor., • Provide safe and secure transportation of students by adhering to all traffic laws and school safety policies. Other: • Attend all required meetings and trainings., • Report any suspected child or dependent adult/elder abuse or neglect immediately to direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if supervisor is unavailable., • Report any client imminent danger to self or to others or gravely disabled immediately to direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if supervisor is unavailable., • Other duties as assigned.
