Role and Team Reporting to the Body Shop Manager or designated manager, the Body Shop Lead will be responsible for ensuring the body shop work flow is efficient and ensuring quality through each stage of metal repair, paint and the finish process. Responsibilities • Complete quality inspection upon completion of body shop work and update work orders for each vehicle upon completion, • Assist with the shop flow to ensure production goals and customer deadlines are met, • Run inventory reports for the body shop, • Assist with distributing parts to designated technicians, • Provide technicians with their assigned repair orders, • Ensure customers receive prompt, efficient, and courteous attention, • Assist with training body shop technicians, • Maintain a professional appearance, orderly work environment, and positive working relationships, • Provide timely service to commercial, dealer, and individual customers via phone, email, in person, and through auction staff as appropriate., • Practice and promote teamwork continuously. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance., • Ensure a safe work environment. Assist with department safety compliance and training., • Ensure proper follow-through on directives, bulletins, and schedules from the designated manager or other auction and corporate sources., • Maintain and improve technical expertise through technical bulletins, trade publications and training seminars., • Advise Management on recommendations to improve operations related functions., • Strong verbal and written communication skills., • Effective employee relations and interpersonal skills required., • Detail oriented and consistent in the execution of job duties., • Ability to prioritize work tasks and attention to detail., • Ability to understand and adhere to Company policies in all areas., • High School Diploma or GED preferred., • Two (2) to four (4) years of body shop experience required., • Auction knowledge and experience preferred., • Proficient computer skills., • Ability to work independently and exercise good business judgment and discretion to analyze and address opportunities., • Well-organized and responsible with an aptitude in problem-solving with strong multitasking skills., • Ability to adapt to changing work environments, including exposure to excessive weather conditions (heat/cold).
