Job Description Job Title: General Manager – Houston TX Hot Chicken Location: Fresno, CA Job Type: Full-Time FLSA Status: Exempt Reports To: Director of Operations Compensation: $67,000 – $75,000 per year (based on experience) Position Overview: The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring execution of Houston TX Hot Chicken brand standards, and driving overall store performance. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on team development, operational excellence, cost control, and delivering an outstanding guest experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Oversee daily execution of brand standards, food quality, and service, • Act as the primary point of contact for all customer service matters, • Ensure all food is prepared according to company procedures and standards, • Assess hiring needs and manage recruitment, onboarding, and training processes, • Complete all new hire paperwork and onboarding within required timelines, • Train, coach, and develop employees using company policies and procedures, • Provide performance feedback, coaching, and corrective action as needed, including documentation of write-ups and performance improvement plans, • Maintain full knowledge of all menu items and operations, • Lead and conduct monthly team meetings, • Monitor and improve store profitability through daily and weekly sales, labor, and cost controls, • Maintain labor costs at or below 25% (including payroll taxes), • Maintain food costs at or below 25%, • Manage and maintain customer review ratings above 4.5 stars across platforms, • Ensure proper inventory management, ordering, and food rotation procedures, • Order food, supplies, and operational materials as needed, • Record, organize, and manage store invoices, • Create weekly staff schedules based on forecast and operational needs, • Manage daily bank deposits and submit proof by 5 PM each day, • Ensure compliance with all company policies, health, safety, sanitation, and security standards, • Follow all cash handling and reconciliation procedures, • Submit weekly operational updates to the Director of Operations, • Experience with Toast POS (POS and reporting), • Experience with Craftable (inventory and food cost management), • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, • Excellent verbal and written communication, • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, • Strong multitasking and time management skills, • Collaborative mindset with a focus on growth and accountability, • Willingness to attend trainings and obtain certifications as required, • ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain), • Food Manager Certification (or willingness to obtain), • Valid driver’s license, • Must be at least 21 years of age, • High school diploma or GED required, • 2–5 years of management experience in restaurant, food service, or related field Equal Opportunity Employer: Houston TX Hot Chicken is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind based on race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other protected status.
