We are hiring an Architect to support a federal healthcare client in Long Beach, CA. Position Overview A6 Scientific Corp. is seeking an experienced Architect to support facility documentation, site investigations, drawing management, and project coordination in a federal healthcare environment. This role is best for someone who is strong in field verification, drawing review, AutoCAD/Revit documentation, and coordination across project stakeholders. The Architect will help document existing campus buildings and utilities, support project planning, maintain drawing records, and identify issues in the built environment that affect future design and construction work. This is a meaningful opportunity to support healthcare facility projects that directly serve Veterans. Key Responsibilities • Conduct site investigations to document existing campus buildings, utilities, and infrastructure, • Prepare and maintain detailed AutoCAD and Revit drawings, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and related documentation, • Review architectural plans and compare drawings to field conditions, • Identify incomplete or inaccurate information and help recommend solutions, • Update drawing files to reflect moves, minor construction, and changes in space use, • Maintain organized drawing files, project binders, and documentation records, • Support documentation of archive and original building drawings for the medical center, • Create schedules, attend project meetings, and support project tracking, • Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders including engineering, logistics, contracting, EMS, OI&T, material management, and end users, • Support projects involving renovations, interior improvements, utilities, roads, drainage, and related campus improvementsMinimum Qualifications Candidates should have: • Minimum 5 years of architectural experience, • Minimum 2 years of site investigation experience, • Experience in commercial, institutional, or healthcare environments, • Ability to perform field investigations and identify differences between drawings and existing conditions, • Ability to review and interpret construction drawings and specifications across multiple disciplinesRequired Skills, • Strong knowledge of healthcare design, • Understanding of fire codes, life safety codes, building codes, barrier-free design, building systems, ergonomics, safety criteria, and maintenance concepts, • Knowledge of building systems used in commercial and healthcare construction, including architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm/fire protection, and telecommunications coordination, • Minimum 2 years of AutoCAD experience, • Minimum 2 years of Revit experience, • Minimum 2 years of Microsoft Office Suite experience, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, • Skilled in freehand drawing and drawing to scale during job site measurements, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to work professionally with contractors, management officials, vendors, Contracting Officers, and Long Beach staff, • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain organized documentationPreferred Qualifications, • Healthcare or hospital project experience, • Federal or VA project experience, • Familiarity with ABAAS, VA Barrier Free Design Guide, VA Technical Information Library (TIL), ICC, OSHA, IFC, and life safety requirements, • NCARB, project management certification, evidence-based design accreditation/certification, or LEED, • Experience with Microsoft Project and Microsoft TeamsWork Schedule and Work Environment, • Full-time, • On-site in Long Beach, California, • Standard schedule is generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, • Overtime may be needed based on project needs and client approval, • This role is in a federal healthcare facility environment, • No remote or hybrid workImportant Requirements To meet contract requirements, candidates must be able to: • Work fully on-site in Long Beach, CA, • Pass required background screening before starting work, • Complete required onboarding steps for access to a VA facility, • Follow client site policies, badge requirements, privacy rules, safety rules, and professional workplace standards, • Wear required PPE when needed for site work, • Work professionally in a structured federal client environmentBenefits, • 11 paid federal holidays per year, • 80 hours combined accrued PTO and sick time, • Wellbeing allowance
