Director Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing (MEP) Maintenance Facilities & Maintenance Maintenance Senior Executive Director, Facilities Pay Grade: E21 Minimum Salary: $96,276 Mid-Point Salary: $119,805 Salary is determined on directly related experience supported by a service record or experience affidavit. For more information on our pay policy, please refer to the Compensation Resource Manual. Annualized pay may be pro-rated based on actual start date. Minimum 240 Type of Assignment: Full-Time; Exempt Contract Type: Non-Chapter 21 Funding This position is locally funded Oversees daily operation of a singular department or campus. Directs staff, which should include people managers, in the development and implementation of departmental or campus policies, procedures, and programs. Adheres to both district policy and governmental regulations concerning department or campus operations. Manages departmental or campus structure, development, training, and planning. Provide oversight, direction, management, and supervision for developing and implementing the maintenance and efficient operation of District facilities. Systems include mechanical, electrical, electronic, plumbing, and special systems. 1. Implements a systematic, on-going process for review of all District facilities to determine immediate and long-term repair and maintenance needs related to HVAC systems, Plumbing systems, Electric systems, Fire Alarm / Fire Sprinkler systems, Electronic controls, and Special Systems, 2. Set priorities and utilize budget according to guidelines established by the Senior Executive Director, 3. Coordinates with engineers on design and installation of mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) systems and special systems and equipment to assure quality of work, 4. Prepares bid specifications and cost estimates, 5. Develops and implements solutions to emergency maintenance solutions, 6. Acts as the liaison with City of San Antonio, City Public Service and other State and Federal agencies as needed, 7. Manages multiple work teams and projects, 8. Reviews contract documents for new construction of facilities and overseeing installation of major components within licensed area of expertise, 9. Develops, implements, and/or supervises projects involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of all MEP systems throughout the District Revised: 08/14/2026 • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or related field; or 4 years equivalent experience, and, • 3+ years of professional experience in Facilities Management of MEP systems, or related field, and, • Progressive leadership experience to include: o Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing, and Managing employees or teams. o Coaching, Mentoring, Developing, and Performance Managing employees or teams., • City of San Antonio Master Journeyman HVAC License or State Equivalent to be dedicated to the San Antonio Independent School District as Master Licensed of Record, • Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee, • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Facilities Management of MEP systems, or related field, and, • 10 + years of progressive experience in a directly related field in Facilities Management of MEP systems, and, • 4+ years of progressive leadership experience to include: o Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing, and Managing employees or teams. o Coaching, Mentoring, Developing and Performance Managing employees or teams, • Knowledge of applicable Codes and Standards, proper materials, and methods in field of expertise and related fields- HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Special Systems, • Knowledge in automated control systems and troubleshoot and resolve HVAC issues promptly to minimize disruption, • Knowledge in the application of local, state, and federal codes and regulations related to MEP systems, • Knowledge of building construction, maintenance or repair of public-school systems or other larger facility programs, • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with a wide variety of district and external personnel, • Skill in using related software applications (i.e. Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), • Leadership, communication, and time/work management skills Revised: 08/14/2026, • Ability to read schematics and blueprints, write specifications using appropriate codes, and proper, safe construction/installation methods, • Ability to delegate responsibilities, manage personnel and resources to achieve a desired objective, • Ability to demonstrate the following core values: integrity, high expectations, commitment, respect, dedication to teamwork and passion for a student-centered environment, • Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position., • Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise. Occasional exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc., • Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, pulling, and pushing; reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15-44 pounds., • Supervise the air conditioning, electrical, plumbing and electronics departments., • Supervise and evaluate support staff/paraprofessionals and classified employees.
