We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to lead daily warehouse operations and support the continued growth of our bonded and fulfillment services. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective warehouse operations while maintaining high standards of safety, security, and customer satisfaction. Job Summary: The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management of a U.S. Customs bonded warehouse and fulfillment/distribution operation. This role oversees inbound and outbound freight processing, bonded inventory control, order fulfillment, labor planning, and facility management. The position requires frequent interaction with Customs and Border Protection Officers, customers, customs brokers, carriers, and internal Mercer Distribution Services teams to ensure timely, compliant, and accurate movement of goods. The Warehouse Operations Manager is accountable for operational performance, regulatory compliance (including CBP and C-TPAT requirements), employee leadership, and continuous process improvement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Plan, direct, and oversee all warehouse operations, including Customs Exam Station (CES), bonded warehouse activities, fulfillment, and general distribution operations, • Ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, bonded warehouse requirements, C-TPAT standards, OSHA regulations, HSPD-12, and company policies, • Manage inbound freight, bonded and non-bonded inventory, order fulfillment, and outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and on-time performance, • Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, accuracy, inventory control, labor efficiency, and cost metrics, • Analyze operational data and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and best-practice methodologies, • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure effective utilization of the warehouse management system (WMS), • Plan and manage labor needs, including coordination of labor support with other Mercer distribution centers as required, • Optimize warehouse layout, space utilization, and material flow to maximize efficiency and maintain the physical condition of the facility, • Liaise with CBP officers, customers, customs brokers, transportation providers, and regulatory agencies to resolve issues and support service requirements, • Prepare operational, compliance, and performance reports for senior management, • Recruit, train, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors, administrative staff, and warehouse associates, • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, • Manage facility-related responsibilities, including security, maintenance coordination, and adherence to bonded warehouse controls, • High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or degree in logistics, supply chain, or business preferred, • Three to five years of progressive warehouse operations experience, including a minimum of three years in a supervisory or management role, • Demonstrated experience managing warehouse operations in a bonded, CES, fulfillment, or distribution environment, • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes, • Strong understanding of operational compliance requirements, including OSHA and supply chain security standards, • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a diverse workforce, • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, • Proven ability to implement process improvements and drive operational efficiency, • Experience in a U.S. Customs bonded warehouse, CES, CFS, or regulated logistics environment, • Knowledge of CBP regulations, bonded inventory controls, and audit requirements, • Warehouse environment with exposure to moving equipment, varying temperatures, and moderate noise levels, • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as required, • Ability to work flexible hours to support operational demands
