Job Description We are currently hiring a Mechanical Engineer in our Building Engineering Division at our Rochester office. The Building Engineering Division at LaBella provides complete building engineering services including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering. Services range from feasibility studies and analysis through project design and construction. Our engineers are well versed in new construction, renovations, additions, analysis, special structures, and design/build projects for a variety of clients. The Mechanical Engineer will work with engineers as part of a project team to provide HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs, studies and technical support as required to fulfill project requirements. Typical projects will involve field work, design, and construction administration services. A successful candidate will be able to work well in a team to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications and reports for Building and Renovation projects. We are seeking an experienced Steel Inspector to perform construction phase testing and inspection of structural steel and welding at various client sites throughout the region. The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience in structural steel inspection and welding inspection. Location: Rochester, NY Responsibilities: • Conduct construction phase testing and inspection of structural steel and welding at various client sites;, • Perform non-destructive testing utilizing Ultrasonic Testing methods;, • Inspect timber framing installations;, • Assist with other special inspections as needed; and, • Travel to project sites as required. Requirements: • American Welding Society - Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required;, • Non-destructive testing proficiency in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) required;, • Timber framing inspection experience;, • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite;, • Comfortable working at heights;, • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; and, • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel. Preferred Qualifications: • Prior experience with geotechnical and/or environmental field investigation;, • Prior experience with structural steel construction and fabrication;, • ICC Bolting/Welding Certification, • UT Inspector Certification, • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification; and, • ACI, AASHTO, or ICC certifications.
