Job Title Litigation Paralegal Department Litigation Reports To (Title) Litigation Partner FLSA Status ☑ Exempt ☐ Non-Exempt Position Summary Support attorneys on the Litigation Team through active participation in all phases of injury case litigation, from initial case workup and discovery through trial preparation and resolution, while managing deadlines and client communications. The Litigation Paralegal helps ensure exceptional client service and contributes to the firm’s mission of securing fair compensation for clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, from case intake to trial or settlement., • Conduct factual investigations by interviewing clients and witnesses and gathering records, evidence, and medical documentation., • Perform legal research on statutes, case law, procedural rules, and relevant regulations., • Draft legal documents and correspondence under attorney supervision, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, affidavits, subpoenas, and demand packages., • Organize and maintain case files, discovery materials, billing and medical records, and other documentation (physical and electronic)., • Manage case calendars, tracking key deadlines, court filings, discovery deadlines, depositions, hearings, and trial dates., • Assist with discovery coordination: requests/records, document review, summary logs, and exhibit organization., • Support trial preparation: prepare exhibits, binders, coordinate witnesses, and assist attorneys at trial or hearings as required., • Act as a point of contact with clients, medical providers, insurers, and other third parties, facilitating clear communication and document gathering., • Support settlement processes, including drafting demand packages, summarizing records, and coordinating lien and settlement procedures., • Provide excellent client service by responding to inquiries, updating clients on case status, and facilitating communication with the litigation team. Required Qualifications Education & Experience: • Associate or bachelor’s degree in paralegal/legal studies, legal administration, or related field; equivalent experience acceptable., • Demonstrated experience supporting attorneys with litigation tasks — drafting documents, managing case files, and client coordination. Skills & Competencies: • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities, with strong attention to detail., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident phone and email correspondence with clients and third parties., • Ability to manage high volumes of billing, medical, and provider documents with persistence and follow-through., • Professional assertiveness when interacting with insurers, providers, and stakeholders while maintaining diplomacy and client focus., • Tech-savvy with case management tools, research platforms, and standard office software. Preferred Qualifications (optional) • 1–3 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, ideally in personal injury or contingency-based litigation is highly preferred., • Familiarity with civil procedure, discovery practices, court filing systems, and medical-bill coordination common to personal injury litigation., • Proficiency with legal research tools, case management software, and document management systems., • Notary public appointment is a plus but not required. Physical Requirements / Working Conditions • On-site, full-time role in a busy litigation office setting., • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods and occasionally lift and organize files or supplies. Supervisory Responsibilities ☐ Yes ☑ No Compensation and Benefits Annual salary range: $40,000 – $50,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications, reflecting typical personal injury paralegal compensation in the Boston area. Full health benefits are available upon first day of employment and 401(k) matching is offered after one year of employment, with opportunities for professional growth on a collaborative, supportive litigation team.
