Job Description Job Title: Judaic Pedagogical Coordinator Full-time (part-time considered) Supervisor: Director of Early Childhood Education Position Summary: The Judaic Pedagogical Coordinator works in close collaboration with the Director of Early Childhood Education to support teachers in implementing high-quality, constructivist Jewish early childhood education. Primary Responsibilities: Work with Educators on Seamless Judaism and Constructivist Practice: • Serve as a resource for integrating Jewish values, holidays, ritual, and basic Hebrew words and phrases into everyday classroom experiences., • Support creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences that reflect Temple Sinai’s Seamless Judaism & Constructivist learning philosophy by modeling, working in partnership with teachers and/or through ongoing coaching conversations., • Ensure that each classroom environment fosters children’s physical, social, cognitive and emotional development and growth and differentiation among children’s learning styles and emotional needs are met by classroom teachers., • Work with teachers through the use of reflective supervision to strengthen educators’ reflective practices., • Work with teachers to fully use their environments as an inspiration for inquiry and encourage authentic interactions with Jewish ritual items, concepts, and traditions., • Collaborate with teachers in creating a materials library emphasizing open-ended and natural materials., • Work closely with educators regarding a wide range of educational issues where the ultimate goal is to promote an educator’s autonomy and collaborate with the educator to remediate challenges., • Engage in regular classroom visits to support teacher reflection and documentation., • Help make children’s learning visible., • Support teachers in writing meaningful Remini posts that demonstrate to families the intentionality of the experience and the learning process for children., • Support teachers in writing Learning Stories for each child that are reflective of the child’s learning experience, identify learning goals, include the voices of families, and path to continuous growth., • Provide ongoing support to teachers to improve their capacities for observing and listening to children, documenting learning and conducting their own research., • Create and maintain a library of resources for teachers., • Support teachers, in collaboration with the Director, to develop individual growth plans with goals and objectives and appropriate resources to meet those goals., • Work in collaboration with the Director of Early Childhood Education to facilitate monthly team meetings. Meetings should be reflective, substantive and provide opportunities for deep and meaningful collaboration., • Participate in the development of program policies and monitoring of program quality when appropriate., • Be familiar and ensure compliance with all Colorado State childcare licensing regulations., • Attend all required meetings and training for the school and community initiatives when appropriate., • Work with the administrative team to establish, implement and hold teachers accountable for classroom policies., • Work with the administrative team to regularly evaluate and document teachers’ performance., • Partner with the administrative team to ensure that the core values of the school are being reflected in every day relationships and practice., • Make recommendations to the administrative team of educational supplies needed for classrooms., • In an emergency situation, work with the administrative team to respond to any urgent matters if the Director or Assistant Director is not available., • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field; Master’s degree preferred., • Minimum 7 years of experience working with children ages of 1 - 5., • Demonstrated knowledge of Jewish traditions, rituals, and values, and ability to integrate them meaningfully into the early learning school environment., • Must have at least 5 years of in-depth knowledge and work experience with Constructivist, Emergent, or Reggio Emilia approach and/or coaching., • Demonstrated effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; customer-service orientation with specific strength in diplomacy and discretion strongly preferred. QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma or equivalent., • Graduate of trade or vocational school, with courses in blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC equipment, refrigeration and electricity preferred., • Minimum of two (2) year previous building maintenance experience desired., • Some knowledge of state building, plumbing and electrical codes and local ordinances., • Ability to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions in order to identify various chemicals and cleaning agents from their labels and understand directions for use., • Willingness and ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions., • Coordination and dexterity needed to handle tools and equipment parts., • Must be capable of making decisions in an emergency., • Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation., • Performs designated cleaning tasks and preventative maintenance services., • Performs defined cleaning procedures, using various chemical and cleaning agents, supplies and equipment, for all areas assigned that would include, but not be limited to, the following:, • Sweeping, mopping, wet washing/shampooing and vacuuming floors/carpets in ancillary service and common areas of the facility., • Stripping, waxing and polishing all floors in accordance with the facility floor covering maintenance schedule., • Washing walls, ceilings, and common area lighting fixtures., • Gathering, transporting and disposing of trash., • Cleaning waste receptacles., • Informs supervisor of supply or equipment needs., • Keeps storage areas locked with supplies properly stored according to established procedures., • Store all germicides, pesticides and other toxic substance clearly labeled and locked away when not in use., • Follow established reporting/repair procedures for the following:, • Any damaged or loose fixtures, flooring or tiling requiring replacement or repair., • Any unsafe or malfunctioning equipment., • Any conditions conducive to breeding insects, rodents or other vermin., • Assist the Director of Environmental Services or Maintenance Supervisor with the implementation of the facility’s preventative maintenance program., • Conducts frequent inspections of all fire safety equipment, alarms, extinguishers, detectors, sprinkler heads, water valves, exit lights, etc. Testing and adjusting where indicated., • Assist the Director of Environmental Services or Maintenance Supervisor with building and equipment maintenance and repairs. Typical duties would include, but not limited to:, • Testing emergency generator., • Adjusting door closures., • Cleaning ice machines, dryer vents, exhaust fans., • Painting, patching, caulking and sanding., • Clearing drain stoppages., • Replacing belts, washers, screws, seals, etc., • Tightening handrails, chair lifts., • Repairing leaks., • Conducting physical plant safety inspections., • Lubricating hinges, motors, bearings, gears, etc., • Operating mechanical equipment., • Assists housekeeping personnel with room transfers., • Reports supply need and major equipment malfunctions or emergencies to the Director of Environmental Services or Maintenance Supervisor., • Assists with department inventory control program., • Is knowledgeable of federal, state and facility’s rules, regulations, policies and procedures., • Attend scheduled department staff meetings.
