We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Executive Vice President (EVP) to define and advance strategic excellence across the organization, with a focus on pharmaceutical and healthcare brands. This role leads the development of insight-driven brand strategies that fuel meaningful customer engagement, differentiated market positioning, and measurable business growth for clients. As a member of the agency leadership team, the EVP, Head of Brand Strategy partners closely with account, creative, media, data/analytics, medical, and market access teams to shape integrated brand platforms and omnichannel marketing solutions. This individual serves as a trusted advisor to clients, a mentor to strategy teams, and a key driver of agency growth, thought leadership, and innovation. Strategic Leadership • Lead the agency’s brand strategy function across pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare accounts., • Develop and oversee brand positioning, messaging architecture, portfolio strategy, launch strategy, customer engagement strategy, and omnichannel planning., • Translate market dynamics, customer insights, clinical data, and competitive intelligence into actionable strategic recommendations., • Ensure all strategic work is grounded in deep audience understanding, business objectives, and measurable outcomes., • Serve as a senior strategic counselor to clients, including brand teams and senior commercial leaders., • Lead client workshops, annual planning sessions, market shaping discussions, and new product launch planning., • Present strategic recommendations with clarity, confidence, and executive presence., • Build trusted, long-term client relationships that position the agency as a valued strategic partner., • Partner with creative, account, medical, digital, media, analytics, and engagement strategy teams to develop integrated campaigns and customer experiences., • Ensure strategy is effectively translated into creative briefs, campaign architecture, channel strategy, and measurement frameworks., • Collaborate with medical and regulatory stakeholders to ensure strategic ideas are credible, compliant, and differentiated., • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing brand strategy team., • Establish best practices, frameworks, and standards for strategic planning and insight development., • Provide coaching and career development for strategists at all levels., • Promote a culture of curiosity, rigor, collaboration, and innovation., • Play a leading role in new business efforts, including pitch strategy, insight generation, workshop facilitation, and presentation development., • Help shape agency positioning and strategic thought leadership in the pharmaceutical and healthcare marketplace., • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through strategic consulting and innovation engagements., • Maintain deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical marketplace, including brand commercialization, market access, HCP and patient engagement, payer dynamics, and evolving regulatory considerations., • Stay current on healthcare trends, digital innovation, omnichannel engagement, AI-enabled marketing, and changes in customer behavior., • Bring forward new tools, frameworks, and methodologies that strengthen agency strategic offerings. Required Skills and Experience • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (MBA, MPH, PharmD, or similar)., • 15+ years of strategy experience in a pharmaceutical advertising agency, healthcare communications agency, or related consulting environment., • Significant experience leading brand strategy for pharmaceutical and/or biotech clients across multiple therapeutic categories., • Proven success developing launch strategies, positioning, messaging, and integrated commercial plans., • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercialization, customer segmentation, market research, omnichannel planning, and data-driven marketing., • Demonstrated experience managing and growing high-performing teams., • Strong executive presence with outstanding presentation, facilitation, and communication skills., • Track record of contributing to business development and agency growth., • Ability to navigate complexity, influence senior stakeholders, and lead through ambiguity. Preferred Experience • Experience across HCP, patient, caregiver, payer, and specialty pharmacy audiences., • Expertise in rare disease, specialty brands, oncology, immunology, or other complex therapeutic areas., • Familiarity with market access strategy, field force engagement, and customer experience design., • Experience integrating primary research, analytics, and behavioral insights into brand planning.
