Key Responsibilities * Provide comprehensive mother and infant assessments, postpartum care, and support breastfeeding, skin-to-skin bonding, and newborn care. * Maintain expertise in perinatal and evidence-based practices, ensuring adherence to all hospital policies and procedures. * Actively participate in emergency maternal and neonatal care, responding effectively to critical situations. * Utilize SBAR communication for bedside handoff reports and emergency situations. * Formulate individualized nursing care plans, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and disease prevention. * Administer medications and therapeutic treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers. * Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring mothers and families are well-informed and empowered in their healthcare decisions. * Supervise and delegate tasks to subordinates within their scope of practice, ensuring high-quality patient care. * Maintain thorough documentation of patient care, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and education. * Adhere to Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative standards, promoting optimal maternal and neonatal care practices. * Assist in patient discharge planning, ensuring continuity of care and proper education on postpartum recovery. * Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications * Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required * Current California RN license. * Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in Perinatal or Critical Care settings. * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA-certified). * Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
