COMPASS LAW GROUP Your Battle. Our Compass. At Compass Law Group, we are more than a law firm — we are a force for change. We exist to guide individuals through life's most challenging legal moments with clarity, courage, and an unwavering commitment to results. Every case we take, every client we serve, and every team member we invest in reflects our belief that people deserve more than ordinary representation — they deserve a team that fights for them. Building a firm of this caliber requires exceptional people. People who are bold enough to challenge the status quo, sharp enough to navigate complexity, and compassionate enough to never lose sight of the human being at the center of every case. Every Case has a name. Every name has a story. We fight for both. If that sounds like you — keep reading. OUR FIVE ORGANIZATIONAL CERTAINTIES: These are not values we aspire to. They are the standards we live by — every case, every client, every day. 1. We Lead With Purpose Everything we do is driven by a clear and unwavering mission — to deliver exceptional legal outcomes for the people who trust us with their most difficult moments. Purpose is not a poster on our wall. It is the lens through which every decision is made., 2. We Build, We Don't Just Maintain We are a firm in motion. We are constantly evolving, improving, and innovating — and we expect our team to do the same. If you are energized by growth, challenged by complexity, and excited by the opportunity to build something meaningful, you will thrive here., 3. Excellence is Non-Negotiable We hold ourselves to the highest standard in everything — client communication, case strategy, team collaboration, and personal accountability. Good enough is never good enough at Compass Law Group. We pursue excellence not because it is required, but because our clients deserve nothing less., 4. People Are Our Greatest Asset We invest deeply in our team — in their development, their wellbeing, their growth, and their success. We recognize that the quality of our work is a direct reflection of the quality of our culture. When our people thrive, our clients thrive., 5. Integrity Is Our Foundation We do not cut corners. We do not compromise our values for convenience. We operate with radical transparency, ethical decision-making, and the kind of honesty that builds lasting trust — with our clients, our partners, and each other. If our mission moves you the way it moves us, your seat is waiting. THE OPPORTUNITY: THIS IS NOT A SEAT AT SOMEONE ELSE'S TABLE. This Is Your Table. You are a Leader, a Litigator, and a Champion. As a Litigation Attorney at Compass Law Group you will have something that most attorneys spend years waiting for — your own team, your own caseload, and the full autonomy to litigate the way you know how. You will lead a dedicated support team comprised of an experienced paralegal and calendaring clerk — professionals who are there to amplify your work, execute your strategy, and ensure that nothing falls through the cracks on your watch. You will manage a focused caseload of approximately 50 active personal injury litigation files — giving you the bandwidth to litigate each case with the depth, strategy, and attention it deserves rather than drowning in volume without support. This is the opportunity to build something — a team culture, a litigation style, a track record, and a legacy — inside a firm that is fully invested in your success. WHAT YOU WILL OWN: Case Strategy & Litigation Leadership You are the architect of every case in your portfolio. From the moment a case enters litigation you are driving the strategy — evaluating liability, assessing damages, identifying strengths and vulnerabilities, and building the roadmap to the best possible outcome for your client. You do not wait to be directed. You lead. Full Spectrum Litigation Management You handle the full litigation lifecycle with confidence and command — from filing complaints and propounding discovery to taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, attending hearings, and preparing cases for trial. You are comfortable in the courtroom and you perform at your best under pressure. Team Leadership & Development You lead your dedicated support team — your paralegal, calendaring clerk, and litigation assistant — with clarity, respect, and purpose. You delegate strategically, communicate expectations clearly, and create an environment where your team is empowered to perform at the highest level. You invest in the people who work with you because you understand that their success is your success. Client Relationship Management Your clients are not just case numbers — they are people who have been through something traumatic and are counting on you to fight for them. You maintain regular, meaningful communication with your clients throughout the litigation process — keeping them informed, managing expectations honestly, and advocating for them with everything you have. Discovery & Motion Practice You propound and respond to written discovery with precision and strategy. You draft and argue compelling motions — demurrers, motions for summary judgment, motions in limine, and beyond — with the skill and confidence of an attorney who knows the law and knows how to use it. Deposition Strategy & Execution You take and defend depositions with a strategic eye and a commanding presence. You prepare your clients thoroughly, anticipate opposing counsel's approach, and extract the testimony that builds your case and protects your client's interests. Negotiation & Settlement You negotiate from a position of strength — leveraging your deep case knowledge, your litigation track record, and your understanding of damages to drive settlements that truly serve your clients. You know when to settle and you know when to fight. And you are equally prepared for both. Trial Preparation & Trial You prepare every case as if it is going to trial — because sometimes it does. You work with your team to build trial-ready files, develop compelling trial narratives, prepare witnesses, and deliver the kind of courtroom performance that wins cases and builds reputations. Compliance & Risk Management You manage your caseload with meticulous attention to deadlines, statutes of limitations, and court rules. You work closely with your calendaring clerk to ensure nothing is ever missed — because in litigation the cost of a missed deadline is a client's case. That is a cost you are never willing to pay. WHO YOU ARE: You are a seasoned litigator who leads from the front. You are as comfortable in a deposition room as you are in a courtroom. You bring strategic intelligence, emotional intelligence, and the kind of relentless work ethic that earns the respect of your team, your clients, and opposing counsel alike. You are not looking for a firm to plug into. You are looking for a firm to help build — one that shares your standard of excellence and gives you the platform, the team, and the autonomy to do the best work of your career. You bring: • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar, • Minimum 3–5 years of plaintiff personal injury litigation experience — you know this practice area deeply and you are ready to own it, • Proven experience managing personal injury cases through all stages of litigation including discovery, motions, depositions, and trial, • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a legal support team effectively, • Strong motion writing and oral argument skills — you can build a legal argument and you can deliver it, • Exceptional deposition skills — both taking and defending, • Deep understanding of personal injury damages including general damages, special damages, and future damages, • Experience negotiating high-value settlements with insurance carriers and defense counsel, • Trial experience — you have been to trial and you know what it takes to win, • Outstanding client communication and relationship management skills, • Proficiency in case management software — Filevine, Clio, or similar platforms, • Ability to manage a focused caseload of 50 active litigation files with precision and strategic intentionality. THIS POSITION IS NOT FOR YOU IF: • You are looking for a high-volume mill environment where cases move on autopilot, • You are not ready to lead a team with clarity accountability and genuine investment in their growth, • You see litigation as a process to manage rather than a fight to win, • You are uncomfortable with ownership autonomy and the expectation of excellence, • You are not prepared to be a true advocate — in the courtroom and in every client interaction, • You are satisfied with good enough when your clients deserve your absolute best COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Base Salary: $175,000 — $300,000 DOE, • Performance Bonuses: Annual performance-based incentives, • Health Benefits: Medical | Dental | Vision — comprehensive coverage, • Paid Time Off: Generous PTO policy + paid holidays, • Bar Dues & CLE: Firm-paid bar membership and continuing legal education, • Professional Development: Ongoing leadership and litigation training, collaboration, support, supervision and mentorship from Founding Partners., • Parking: No cost We review every application personally and treat every candidate with the same respect and care we give our clients.
