Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting metal working machinery, CNC equipment, and machine shop systems with a strong emphasis on both mechanical and electrical maintenance. The Quality Technician diagnoses and repairs equipment issues, works with PLCs, and ensures reliable operation of production machinery in a clean, safe, and climate-controlled facility. The position requires a blend of hands-on technical work, precise documentation, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on metal working machinery, CNC equipment, and machine shop tools to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime., • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using strong troubleshooting skills and a systematic approach., • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair PLC-controlled equipment, applying at least 1 year of PLC experience to support reliable machine operation., • Work with control systems from Allen-Bradley and Siemens (or similar platforms) to identify faults, make adjustments, and support safe and efficient operation., • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute maintenance and repair activities accurately., • Inspect, maintain, and repair DC controls and AC circuits from 24V to 480V, including basic wiring and motor control circuits., • Perform mechanical maintenance tasks such as component replacement, alignment, adjustment, and repair of machine shop equipment., • Execute electrical maintenance tasks including troubleshooting circuits, replacing components, and verifying proper operation of electrical systems., • Utilize computer-based tools and maintenance systems to document work performed, track issues, and update maintenance records., • Collaborate closely with other technicians, engineers, and production personnel to resolve equipment issues and improve reliability., • Follow established safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and facility guidelines to maintain a safe working environment., • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues, proposing solutions, and supporting implementation of corrective actions., • Provide clear communication on equipment status, repair timelines, and maintenance needs to supervisors and team members. Essential Skills • At least 2 years of maintenance experience working with metal working machinery, CNC equipment, and machine shop tools., • Minimum of 1 year of experience with PLC maintenance and repair., • Experience working with control systems such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens (or similar platforms)., • General knowledge of DC controls and AC circuits ranging from 24V to 480V., • Ability to perform basic wiring and work confidently with motor control circuits., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings., • Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic components and systems., • Proven electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills in an industrial or manufacturing environment., • Proficiency with computer systems and software relevant to maintenance activities and documentation., • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with others in a collaborative environment., • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in mechanical maintenance, including repair and adjustment of rotating equipment and machine shop tools., • Experience in electrical maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems., • Background supporting engineering or security-related systems in an industrial environment., • Familiarity with maintenance repair best practices, including root cause analysis and preventive maintenance planning., • Comfort working with high-precision equipment, such as those used in turbine blade overhaul or similar applications. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Prairie, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.00/hr.
