Job Description Clinical Research Nurse (LVN or RN) Location: Abilene, Texas Employment Type: Part-Time Access Community Clinical Trials (ACCT) is a growing clinical research organization dedicated to expanding access to high-quality clinical trials within community healthcare settings. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse who can support both infusions and coordinate clinical research activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys patient interaction, clinical procedures, and research operations in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Position Summary The research will support the conduct of clinical trials while providing nursing care, including infusion-related procedures. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with investigators, sponsors, patients, and research staff while maintaining compliance with protocol requirements, GCP guidelines, and regulatory standards. Essential Responsibilities • Coordinate and manage day-to-day clinical trial activities, • Perform and assist with infusion procedures per protocol and physician direction, • Conduct patient visits, screenings, vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, and study procedures · Collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator/Physician in the review and completion of study feasibility questionnaires. · Work closely with the Principal Investigator/Physician to serve as a clinical resource to research staff by providing guidance on diseases, medical conditions, medications, protocol requirements, subject eligibility, study procedures, safety considerations, and clinical decision-making related to study conduct. · Assist with prescreening and recruiting participants to clinical trials • Educate patients regarding study participation and treatment expectations, • Maintain accurate source documentation and electronic data entry, • Ensure compliance with protocol requirements, FDA regulations, HIPAA, and ICH-GCP guidelines, • Schedule study visits and communicate with sponsors, CROs, labs, and vendors, • Assist with investigational product accountability and temperature monitoring, • Support regulatory and quality assurance activities, • Respond to patient questions and maintain excellent patient care throughout study participation, • Additional tasks as assigned Qualifications • Active Texas LVN license or Registered Nurse in good standing, • Experience performing infusions required, • Clinical research experience preferred, but not required, • Knowledge of ICH-GCP, FDA regulations, and HIPAA, • Strong documentation and organizational skills, • Ability to work independently and manage multiple studies/tasks simultaneously, • Experienced using technology, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Working Conditions • Clinical office and research site environment including the research infusion area, • Frequent direct patient care involving administration and monitoring of intravenous (IV), subcutaneous, and investigational infusions/injections in accordance with protocol requirements and physician oversight., • Requires adherence to all applicable ICH-GCP guidelines, OSHA standards, HIPAA requirements, infection control procedures, and protocol-specific safety requirements., • May involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, biological specimens, hazardous materials, investigational products, and infectious diseases; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and required., • Requires continuous patient monitoring during and after infusions for adverse events, infusion reactions, hypersensitivity reactions, and other medical emergencies., • Must be able to respond appropriately and efficiently to urgent medical situations, including implementation of emergency procedures and notification of the Principal Investigator or treating physician., • Requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, patient assessment, venipuncture, IV access management, and computer-based documentation., • Frequent use of infusion pumps, monitoring equipment, centrifuges, ECG machines, temperature-controlled storage equipment, and electronic medical record/research systems., • Ability to lift and transport supplies, infusion materials, laboratory kits, or equipment up to 50 pounds may be required., • Work may require flexible scheduling including early mornings, evenings, extended visit durations, or occasional weekends based on protocol-specific infusion schedules and subject needs., • Moderate to high attention to detail required to ensure protocol compliance, accurate dose preparation/administration, source documentation, and subject safety., • Occasional travel between research sites, sponsor meetings, investigator meetings, or protocol training sessions may be required., • Must maintain strict confidentiality of participant, sponsor, and organizational information., • Extended periods of standing, sitting, and computer work.
