Job Description Cardiac Telemetry RN - Independence, MO Full-Time | Days & Nights Available | $32.00-$43.00/Hour + Differentials | $12K Sign-On Bonus | Relocation Available Overview Join a 285+ bed Level II Trauma Center in Independence, Missouri, featuring state-of-the-art cardiac monitoring technology and a 36-bed Cardiac Specialty Unit. This Cardiac Telemetry RN role offers the opportunity to care for a diverse monitored patient population including chest pain, stroke, COPD, post-operative, GI, arrhythmias, and cardiac drip patients. The unit serves as step-down from PCU with 4-5:1 day shift ratios and 5-6:1 night shift ratios. Responsibilities • Assess acute cardiac changes in monitored patients, interpret ECGs, identify arrhythmias, and intervene in emergency situations using advanced critical thinking and clinical judgment., • Monitor and analyze heart rhythms continuously, respond to telemetry alarms, and provide therapeutic interventions for patients with cardiovascular conditions., • Coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care for patients ages 16 and older, including young adults, adults, and geriatric populations requiring cardiac monitoring and step-down care., • Provide nursing care in accordance with evidence-based standards, hospital policies, and departmental protocols to support quality patient outcomes., • Manage patients with chest pain, stroke, COPD exacerbations, post-surgical conditions, cardiac drips, and accelerated heart rhythms., • Stabilize pediatric patients under age 16 until appropriate transfer arrangements can be made., • Demonstrate advanced knowledge in psychosocial, spiritual, pathophysiological, and therapeutic components specific to cardiac and step-down patient populations., • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery, patient education, and discharge planning., • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards., • Identify risks, hazards, and unsafe practices while implementing mitigation strategies to promote patient safety. Required: • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with Diploma, Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), • Current Missouri RN license in good standing or active multi-state compact license, • Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience, • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire, • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 1 year of hire, • Strong ECG interpretation skills and cardiac monitoring experience, • Telemetry, progressive care, or cardiac nursing experience, • ACLS certification upon hire, • Hourly Pay: $32.00-$43.00 based on years of experience, • Shift Differentials: $3.00/hour nights | $2.00/hour weekends, • Sign-On Bonus: $12,000 (2-year commitment), • Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis, • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, • 401(k) with employer match, • Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay, • Tuition reimbursement and continuing education support, • Professional development and career pathing opportunities Acute care nurses ready to advance their cardiac nursing skills in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
