Job Description Wills Eye Hospital is hiring a Quality and Infection Prevention Coordinator in Philadelphia, PA. In this full-time, 40-hour-per-week role, you’ll lead and support infection prevention and quality initiatives within a high-acuity surgical hospital environment. You will apply epidemiologic principles, regulatory standards, and data analysis to identify trends, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance with NHSN, CMS, and state reporting requirements. This role is best suited for a nurse with experience or strong interest in infection prevention and quality, who is looking to build or deepen expertise in infection control, regulatory compliance, and hospital-wide quality initiatives. Success in this role requires comfort working with data, navigating complex regulatory requirements, and influencing clinical and operational leaders. Key Responsibilities * Leads infection surveillance activities using epidemiologic principles, including data collection, analysis, and risk stratification to identify trends and potential outbreaks * Oversees and maintains the Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP), including systems for prevention, identification, investigation, and control of healthcare-associated infections * Ensures compliance with NHSN reporting requirements and all federal, state, and local infection prevention regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., CMS, PA DOH, ACHC) * Analyzes infection prevention, patient safety, and quality data to identify risks and develop actionable improvement plans across departments * Serves as a subject matter expert in infection prevention and quality, partnering with clinical and operational leaders to implement evidence-based practices * Supports hospital-wide readiness for regulatory surveys and accreditation by maintaining policies, procedures, and infection prevention protocols aligned with current standards What You Bring You may be a strong fit for this role if you have a foundation or strong interest in infection prevention, quality, or regulatory compliance within a healthcare setting. You are collaborative, adaptable, and able to influence clinical and operational stakeholders to drive best practices. Required Qualifications * Active RN license * Clinical experience in a surgical setting (Operating Room, Pre-Op, PACU strongly preferred) * Demonstrated exposure to infection prevention, infection control practices, or healthcare quality initiatives in a clinical setting * Strong interest in developing expertise in infection prevention and regulatory standards Preferred Qualifications * Exposure to or experience with infection prevention practices, surveillance, or regulatory compliance in a healthcare setting strongly preferred * Familiarity with CDC, Joint Commission, or APIC guidelines * Certification in Infection Prevention (CIC) or willingness to obtain * Experience with quality improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) About Wills Eye Hospital Wills Eye Hospital is a world-renowned leader in ophthalmology, ranked among the top eye hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
