Description: The Interim & Delegated Services team provides interim or ongoing Title IX and equity position services, as well as consulting, coaching, and mentoring assistance to schools and organizations. These services are designed to assist clients with their equity goals and with their compliance obligations under Title IX of the Education Amendments of the 1972 Civil Rights Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Violence Against Women Act of 2013, the ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other related federal and state laws. Team members may be assigned to provide one or more services to one or more institutions at the same time. Position Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Interim & Delegated Services or their designee, the Senior Associate’s primary responsibility is to provide to schools and organizations on an interim or ongoing basis assistance with Title IX, 504, ADA, EEO response and resolution services, and to develop and deliver training and education regarding harassment and discrimination. The Title IX & Equity Services ADA/504 Senior Associate may also be asked to serve as a hearing advisor, assist with hearing coordination, take notes during client meetings or party/witness interviews, and support other elements of a client’s prevention, response and/or resolution processes. Summary of Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Director of Interim & Delegated Services or their designee: • Act as an institution’s ADA and/or 504 Coordinator or Deputy Coordinator for large or complex offices. Assume responsibility and oversight of an institution’s accommodations services in accordance with the assigned role, and an institution’s policies and procedures., • Respond to all requests for accommodation in accordance with an institution’s policies and procedures., • Draft essential correspondence related to processing of accommodation requests., • Conduct and document interactive dialogues and processes., • Develop and deliver trainings related to ADA and/or 504 obligations., • Assist clients in improving the overall functioning of their ADA and/or 504 departments., • Serve as an institution’s subject matter expert on compliance and best practices related to ADA and 504., • Stay abreast of regulations and statutes relating to discrimination, retaliation, harassment, sexual misconduct, and gender-based violence including, but not limited to, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the ADA, and related state and/or federal laws., • Properly maintain all client data according to each client’s expectations and standards., • Follow policies or procedures as set forth by client institutions, including timelines., • Adhere to Grand River Solutions standards for Title IX Coordinators and EEO Directors., • Provide guidance to more junior GRS staff assisting with the response and oversight processes for clients’ ADA and/or 504 offices., • Work with confidential and highly sensitive information and maintain confidentiality in compliance with client school policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations., • Maintain an appropriate professional demeanor at all times., • Complete other tasks and projects as assigned., • Strong understanding of ADA and §504 regulations, including their intersection with Title IX and EEO laws and practices., • Ability to serve at one or more institutions simultaneously., • Exceptional writing skills, including demonstrated skills in drafting professional communications, • Ability to effectively communicate by phone, email, and in-person with parties, witnesses, client representatives, and colleagues., • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and accurately grasp complex issues., • Ability to work in and foster a diverse and inclusive environment, including direct work with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds., • Ability to establish rapport and work cooperatively with faculty, staff, students, and partner organizations at all levels., • Ability to work independently, prioritize and organize work effectively, and meet established timelines and deadlines., • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail., • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team., • Ability to be resilient, flexible, and creative in approaching complex problems., • Excellent work ethic with a high level of motivation and productivity., • Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary., • Five or more years of demonstrated experience serving as an ADA and/or 504 Coordinator/Director, at two or more campuses, one of which must be considered large or complex., • Two or more years of supervisorial or management experience., • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and build consensus among groups with diverse perspectives., • Demonstrated understanding and experience working with a wide range of policies in the higher education or K-12 environments., • Experience conducting interactive dialogues and processes., • Experience developing and delivering training., • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize projects, establish and maintain documentation and recordkeeping standards consistent with best practices, and manage multiple competing deadlines., • Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete projects in a timely manner., • Former training in ADA and/or 504., • Demonstrated knowledge of regulations and statutes relating to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the ADA., • Experience handling confidential and highly sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality compliance with institutional policies and state and federal regulations., • Demonstrated ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds., • Experience in conflict management and as a team or department supervisor, or equivalent., • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs) or similar office software., • Ability to easily use at least one of the following campus database case management systems, including data entry and report generation, or equivalent; Maxient, iSight, Advocate. The pay range for this position in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and New York City is $136,500 - $168,000 or those who are elsewhere in California, the range is $84,000 - $152,300. For those based in Colorado, the range is $84,000 - $152,300. For those based in Washington State, the range is $84,000 - $152,300. As noted above, all of these pay ranges depend upon specific location, knowledge, relevant experience, background, and skills.
