Position Summary: We are seeking a dependable and hands-on Machine Operator Helper / Laborer to support production operations within our 101 building. This role is responsible for assisting machine operators with day-to-day production needs, material handling, setup support, packaging, labeling, cleanup, and general labor tasks throughout the building. This position is well-suited for someone who is comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, enjoys hands-on work, and is interested in learning how production machines operate. The Machine Operator Helper / Laborer will work closely with experienced operators and supervisors to help keep machines running efficiently, safely, and according to production requirements. This is an entry-level production support role with the opportunity to learn multiple machines and build long-term skills within the company. Key Responsibilities: • Assist machine operators with setup, operation support, changeovers, and production-related tasks., • Load, unload, move, and stage materials needed for production., • Help prepare rolls, cores, packaging materials, pallets, boxes, labels, and other supplies., • Package, label, wrap, and organize finished goods according to customer and work order requirements., • Perform visual quality checks and report any defects, damages, or nonconforming materials to the operator or supervisor., • Support operators by keeping machines supplied with materials throughout the shift., • Remove scrap, waste, and unused materials from production areas., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around machines and production zones., • Assist with basic machine cleaning and general housekeeping duties., • Follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production priorities provided by supervisors or machine operators., • Use basic measuring tools, hand tools, or production equipment as needed., • Assist with forklift-supported material movement if trained and authorized., • Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, quality, shipping, and other team members., • Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and manufacturing procedures., • Perform other general labor or production support duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Previous experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, machine operation, material handling, or general labor preferred., • Experience working around production machinery is a plus, but not required., • Forklift experience preferred, but not required., • Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a fast-paced production environment., • Comfortable performing hands-on, physical work throughout the shift., • Strong attention to detail, especially when checking materials, labels, packaging, and product quality., • Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn machine-related tasks., • Ability to communicate issues, delays, safety concerns, or quality concerns clearly., • Must be able to follow company policies, safety rules, and supervisor direction. Physical Requirements This is a hands-on labor position in a manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and handle materials throughout the shift. The employee must be able to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. as needed and push or pull materials up to 100 lbs. with appropriate equipment or assistance. The employee must be able to work around production machinery and moving equipment and use hands and fingers to handle tools, packaging supplies, labels, rolls, pallets, and other production-related materials. The employee must be able to wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures. The work environment may include noise, dust, temperature changes, manufacturing materials, and active production areas.
