Job Description Position: Benefits Manager Compensation:$75,000 to $85,000 annually Status: Full-Time Category: Exempt Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm with flexible nights and weekends if needed Reports to: CHRO Location: Ewing Township, NJ What We Offer: • Top 401k plans in the industry. Job Summary The Arc Mercer Benefits Manager is responsible for the hands-on and strategic administration and operational management of the organization's employee benefits programs, including health and welfare plans, retirement offerings, wellness initiatives, and leave policies. This role ensures regulatory compliance, fosters strong vendor partnerships, and provides expert guidance to employees regarding their benefits. The Benefits Manager also contributes to plan evaluation and continuous improvement, supporting a competitive and cost-effective total rewards strategy. Key Responsibilities • Manage and administer comprehensive employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), wellness, and other ancillary offerings., • Serve as the primary subject matter expert and point of contact for all benefits-related inquiries, resolving issues efficiently and empathetically., • Oversee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations within the HRIS system (Paycom), ensuring accuracy and timely processing., • Ensure organizational compliance with federal and state regulations such as ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, and ACA., • Partner with insurance brokers and benefit providers to monitor performance, resolve service issues, and ensure optimal program delivery., • Lead employee education efforts, including new hire benefits orientation, annual open enrollment., • Provide support with employee communication pieces, utilizing our internal employee committee and HRIS system., • Analyze benefit utilization, market trends, and cost drivers to identify opportunities for program enhancements or cost containment., • Maintain meticulous records and generate reports to support compliance audits, executive decision-making, and financial planning, such as ACA reporting, etc., • Collaborate with Finance and HR leadership on benefits budgeting, renewals, and vendor negotiations., • Conduct risk assessments and support the development of strategies that mitigate benefits-related risks., • Identify problems, needs and recommend strategic solutions related to health, life, dental, vision, STD, LTD, AD&D., • Provide resolution and oversight of employee issues such as, enrollments, billing, escalated claim issues., • Experience with self-insured programs and capture all lines of coverage, such as medical, dental, vision, group ancillary and voluntary products., • Understanding of carrier products and apply knowledge to daily activities, • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field., • 2–4 years of progressive experience in benefits administration, analysis, or risk management., • In-depth knowledge of employee benefits laws, compliance requirements, and industry standards., • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools; experience with Paycom or similar HRIS platforms preferred., • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport across all levels of the organization., • Financial acumen., • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, collaborative environment., • Experience with healthcare data analytics or actuarial analysis is a plus.
