Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Physical Therapist, • Discipline: Therapy, • Start Date: 04/21/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 5x8hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 21, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Acute care hospital setting with a Level II Trauma designation, • Unit covers PT, OT, and Speech therapy across inpatient, outpatient, and rehab areas, • Inpatient patient population includes ortho, post-surgical, neuro, trauma, cardiac, and med-surg; no NICU, pediatric, PICU, ER, or ICU patients, • Outpatient PT/OT population includes ortho and neuro cases; outpatient Speech includes trauma and neuro, • Rehab population includes neuro, spinal cord injuries, and trauma, • Patient load varies by area: up to 9 patients/day in outpatient, up to 13 patients/day in inpatient, and varies in rehab, • Candidates may be assigned to inpatient, outpatient, or rehab areas, and may be required to float between areas, • EMR: Cerner PowerChart, • 8-hour day shifts; shift start times vary and may include non-traditional schedules such as Wed–Sun or Thu–Mon, • Every other weekend (EOW) required; holidays are not required, • 13-week assignmentRequirements, • Current PT license in the state of California required; active at time of consideration — pending licenses will not be accepted, • Minimum 1 year of PT experience required; candidates with inpatient clinical experience may be considered with less than one full year, • Current BLS certification required; pending certifications will not be accepted, • Experience in an acute care setting required, • Trauma experience preferred, • Travel experience preferred, • A driver's license must be provided for consideration, • Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire, • License required if applicableAdditional Information, • Rehab aides and PTAs are available on-site to assist with patient care, typically 2 per shift, • Orientation is approximately 1.5 days and is conducted at the department level, not hospital-wide; Cerner training is included during orientation if needed, • Maroon polo shirt, dark-colored pants, and closed-toe shoes required; a lab coat is optional, • Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
