Job Description Overview Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding an Anesthesiologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. There are ample leadership opportunities in our growing practice, and although we don't handle heart surgeries or transplants, we do encounter occasional pediatric cases involving children over 2 years old. Furthermore, our colleagues boast fellowships in OB anesthesia, Peds anesthesia, Pain Management, Critical Care, and Cardiothoracic anesthesia. We typically handle around 300-360 OR cases per month, with fewer than 100 deliveries per month and a labor epidural rate of approximately 80%. Additionally, our off-site areas include MRI, IR, and an endoscopy/bronchoscopy suite, with the endo suite located in the same area as the main ORs. We currently have 6 main ORs and no office anesthesia or freestanding outpatient facility. Our department benefits from three dedicated Biomedical equipment techs, and although some cases are solo without a CRNA or resident, the CRNA ratio is 1:2, and all CRNAs work under supervision. The Hospitals are part of NYC Health + Hospitals. Jacobi is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and NCB has 213 licensed beds. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards. Our Rheumatology Practice has 1,700 unique active patients between Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital with 52 patients receiving routine biologic infusion therapy. There are ample leadership opportunities in our growing practice, and although we don't handle heart surgeries or transplants, we do encounter occasional pediatric cases involving children over 2 years old. Furthermore, our colleagues boast fellowships in OB anesthesia, Peds anesthesia, Pain Management, Critical Care, and Cardiothoracic anesthesia. We practice an expanded Anesthesia Care model, taking a leadership role in navigating the perioperative process, in close friendly collaboration with surgeons and nursing staff. Our Department is equipted with all required modern equipment for the safest practice of Anesthesia, including Video-Laryngoscopy, 2 SonoSite Ultrasound Machines for Vascular Cannulation and Regional Anesthesia, 2 Ambu FOB Systems with disposal scopes used in Thoracic Anesthesia and Difficult Airway management, FloTrack System for intraoperative hemodynamic management, and AccuView vein finding system.
