Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Senior Manager of Site-Based Programs, the WIE Program Specialist will provide support to BBBSLA's Women in Entertainment (WIE) Mentorship Program and related entertainment industry focused programs. The Specialist will maintain a caseload of site-based youth mentoring matches. The Specialist will (1) assist in the successful onboarding of student and volunteer participants in the program; (2) hold individual monthly support calls with students, volunteers and parents/guardians; (3) coordinate and organize transportation for students for their in-person match sessions; (4) attend WIE events and activities; and (5) support scholarship coordination and distribution to WIE alumnae. This is a part-time, hybrid work position with a mix of virtual and in-office work. The position also requires travel for special events and face-to-face meetings with staff, volunteers, mentees, and corporate partners. ABOUT THE WIE MENTORSHIP PROGRAM In 2009, The Hollywood Reporter and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles joined forces to create a unique mentorship program for high school junior girls throughout Los Angeles County. Each year, the WIE Mentorship Program connects 18-20 female students from under-resourced communities with female entertainment executives through an annual mentorship and college & career readiness program. The goals of the program are to provide high quality mentorship opportunities for young female students during a critical phase in their young adulthood; promote the development of skills such as public speaking, confidence, and leadership; introduce students to the entertainment industry as a potential career path; promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the entertainment industry; and prepare students for college matriculation and success.
