American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Chandler, Arizona. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Telemetry, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a hospital-based Telemetry Float Pool, floating between Telemetry and MedSurg units, • Patients include post-cardiac procedures, neuro, ortho, oncology, and general medical-surgical cases, ages 15 and older, • Patient ratios typically 1:3-4 for Telemetry and Neuro units, 1:4 on MedSurg units, • Shift schedule is 12-hour nights with 4 weekend shifts per schedule and 2 of 3 major holidays required, • First to float across Tele, MedSurg, ICU (if skilled), Cardiac Tele, observation, and holding areas; may float between two campuses 9 miles apart, • Uses Cerner for EMR documentation; experience with Cerner preferred, • Telemetry units use centralized monitoring; GE monitors used on MedSurg units, • No pediatric patients; no ventilator care required, • Provide comprehensive telemetry nursing care to a variety of patient populations, including post-surgical and cardiology cases, • May be required to float mid-shift between units or campuses based on staffing needs, • Notify of float location 1.5 hours before shift start; rare float to another campus within a shift is possible, • Must wear navy scrubs, • Charge nurse and clinical supervisor available for support; patient care technicians present depending on unit and shift, • 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy coverage, • Must participate in floor-specific orientation (2 shifts per floor/unit), • First-time travelers may be considered, • Must work assigned holidays and follow weekend shift requirements, • Local candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility\n \n Requirements\n, • Active AZ RN license or compact (NLC) RN license required, • Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry nursing experience, • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required, • Experience titrating cardiac drips such as Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine required, • Must be able to interpret EKGs, • Submission must include a copy of driver's license, • Must provide two references: one supervisor from the past year and one peer or supervisor from the past three years (with dates and rehire eligibility), • Successful completion of a dysrhythmia exam (max two attempts) prior to contract signing, • Pass/fail Sim Lab testing on day one of orientation, • Candidates cannot have worked at any affiliated health system as a direct employee in the past year\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
