Job Description Position Title: Bookkeeper/Accountant Supervisor(s): Chief Operating Officer and Chief Administrative Officer Employment Status: Full-Time Position Work Schedule: M-F: 9:30am to 5:00pm From time to time, this position may require mandatory overtime, with overtime pay. All overtime is subject to senior management’s prior notice and approval. 30 minutes for lunch break. Work from the Company’s primary office, located in Ardsley, NY. Work from home opportunities are limited, and approval is granted by management on a case-by-case basis. No business travel related to this position. Other benefits such as health insurance and paid PTO available after an initial probationary period. Salary Range: $65,000 to $80,000 annually, based upon experience and credentials. Position Summary: HMH Management Company LLC is an asset management company with a primary focus on the management of commercial and multi-family properties. Candidates will be responsible for bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping including, but not limited to, managing accounts receivables, accounts payables, and revenue and expense categorization and tracking. High emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with, and strong knowledge of, QuickBooks Desktop and Online is mandatory. Candidates must have experience with double-entry accrual accounting and must have a strong working knowledge with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word applications. Essential Functions: • Responsible for various aspects of general ledger accounting (currently utilizing QuickBooks Online), • Post end-of-period accrual and reversing entries for accrued expenses and revenues., • Reconcile and record credit card batch processing activities with credit card statements., • Balance and reconcile bank statements for various business entities., • Mange and reconcile the Company’s petty cash account., • Enter vendor invoices and process vendor payments., • Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions and records., • Maintain, track, and report on established expense and income categories via QuickBooks Online account., • Maintain and track warranty and maintenance contracts involving appliances and equipment installed in the various operating properties managed by the Company., • Interact with vendors and service providers regarding invoicing or billing errors or inconsistencies., • Interact with tenants and customers regarding the reconciliation of rental payments and expense reimbursements., • Prepare P&L statements on a monthly and quarterly basis for each of the Company’s various business entities., • Prepare and compile annual financial statements including P&L statements and balance sheets for each of the company’s various business entities., • Create reports (using QuickBooks and/or Excel as requested by management) regarding any of the functions and work responsibilities described above., • Assist senior management and the Company’s outside accounting firm with information required for annual tax filings preparation and preparation of financial statements., • Assist with project economic projections & budgeting purposes., • Any other accounting related tasks that may be requested by senior management. Requirements: • Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or financial record management., • General bookkeeping experience of at least five (5) years., • Strong proficiency and working knowledge in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word Applications. Candidate will work with management to create projection models for certain Company’s activities. Ability to discreetly manage highly confidential materials., • Candidates are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement as a prerequisite to employment., • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
