Experienced Barista & Front of House Specialist

We are seeking an experienced, polished, and hospitality-driven *Barista & Front of House Specialist* to join our growing specialty café and bakery. We are looking for someone who brings a strong foundation in specialty coffee preparation, exceptional customer service, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities Specialty Coffee & Beverage Preparation • Prepare high-quality espresso-based beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, and specialty drinks., • Demonstrate proficiency in espresso extraction, grinder calibration, milk steaming, and latte art., • Maintain consistency in beverage quality, presentation, and preparation standards., • Operate, clean, and maintain commercial espresso machines, grinders, and related equipment. Front of House & Guest Experience • Deliver attentive, welcoming, and professional customer service., • Engage with guests, provide product recommendations, and maintain a positive atmosphere., • Accurately process transactions and manage orders using our POS system., • Efficiently fulfill in-store, pickup, and third-party delivery orders., • Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally., • Maintain an immaculate, organized, and visually appealing front-of-house environment. Daily Operations • Execute opening and closing procedures., • Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies as needed., • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards., • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient daily operations., • Remain composed, organized, and efficient during high-volume service periods., • Demonstrate accountability, punctuality, and strong attention to detail. Required Qualifications • Minimum 1 year of professional barista or relevant specialty café experience., • Hands-on experience operating commercial espresso machines and grinders., • Strong knowledge of espresso preparation, milk steaming, and beverage consistency., • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills., • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment., • Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and exceptional attention to detail., • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently., • Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends. The merchandiser continually focuses on re-stocking product in all areas of the café, ensuring the displays are aesthetically pleasing and bountiful!, • Pick-Up Specialist – The specialist focuses on spreading joy to our guests by ensuring all pickup and delivery orders are prepared, packaged, and fulfilled in a timely manner. This individual assists with fulfilling our mission by delivering joy to everyone! WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE • Minimum of 1-2 years of Retail, Customer Service and food handling experience, preferred., • Minimum High School Diploma/GED or Some College, preferred., • Ability to work weekends and holidays., • Positive and passionate attitude!, • High sense of integrity and ownership., • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)., • Able to lift up to 25 lbs., • Time management, ability to prioritize and follow direction., • Adherence to food safety guidelines., • Proficient on Point of Sale systems, currently Toast.
